Celebrated author @marian_keyes joined @bbcnuala in the Woman’s Hour studio to talk about The Walsh Sisters, a new drama series inspired by her bestselling novels.
The series follows a family of five sisters as they navigate heartbreak, grief, addiction, and parenthood.
Speaking about the show, Marian reflected on her own experiences with addiction - including how watching the drama brought back memories of what life was like when she was struggling, and what it took to overcome it.

Just wrapped on season 1 of Netflix's adaptation of Marian Keyes best selling novel Grown Ups.
The past 6 months have been such a rollercoaster and I have loved every minute of it. I am so grateful to everyone who was involved, such an incredible cast and crew. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring Tilly to life. A special thank you to our incredible showrunner and writer Samantha Strauss who is bringing Marian's book to the screen in such a special and elegant way. Each script has so much thought and detail in it and honestly it's going to be an incredible TV series especially if you love the book as much as I do. ❤️

And oh my god this crew, thank you so much to our excellent teams behind the scenes , the kindness and funniness of everyone who kept me laughing, especially when I wanted to be crying leaving my wee bubba at home for the long filming hours. BUT she learned to cook, clean, skin a fish with a sharp blade and light fires in the garden all by herself. We don’t know an airing date yet, but I know it’ll be out all over the world & you are gonna love it.
