Thank you to everyone who came out for our first live ambient listening session.
We’re grateful for the strong turnout and for the attentive, engaged presence in the room. Creating space for intentional listening is at the core of what we do, and it’s encouraging to see that resonate. These moments of quiet connection and good company feel rare, and we don’t take them for granted.
Thank you to Samantha @sammybee.19 , @piusings and @phasebloom.xy for the music, and to @mellowdramaland for the space.
Excited to be cultivating this space together. More soon.

Some moments from my set at the first @marginsofsound gathering. Was a lovely evening, and we got a chance to connect, listen, share tea, rest ✨
Stoked to have collaborated with the talented Samantha Letourneau @sammybee.19 on the flute. Was wonderful to witness Josh Rudolph @phasebloom.xy perform.
Many thanks to @mellowdramaland studio for the beautiful space and care they put into the event. Grateful to everyone who came ❤️
Thanks to @rubysingh_ for the beautiful visual source material 🙏
🎥: @phasebloom.xy 🥰
Surfing a generative patch with @sammybee.19 on flute: analog waves, field recordings, woodwinds.
Such a pleasure to collab with Sam. Thanks @mellowdramaland for the room, @marginsofsound for holding the space, and everyone who came out to listen.
MOSS presents an evening of listening-focused live ambient music.
In a time when things can feel loud and unsettled, we’re making space to slow down — to sit together, listen closely, and let sound unfold.
Featuring live performances by @phasebloom.xy and @piusings , with guest musician @sammybee.19 on flute.
This gathering marks the beginning of Margins of Sound Society’s public programming in Nanaimo. Proceeds from the evening directly support upcoming projects and free offerings we’ll be sharing later this year.
Tea and light snacks will be provided.

Why the margins matter:
The edges are sites of possibility. Fertile zones where experimentation can unfold.
When attention deepens, new ways of creating and listening can emerge.
Margins of Sound Society (MOSS) exists to nurture creativity and connection at the cultural and sonic edges. We make space for artists and audiences to meet, share, and grow together.
At the heart of MOSS is a belief that music and sound are communal, transformative forces. We encourage intentional listening, knowledge sharing, and creative practice.
We’re here. Stay tuned.
