Stepa is a supper club born from the meeting of two women with shared roots in Almaty, Kazakhstan and a passion for storytelling through food. Inspired by the vast steppes of Central Asia, it brings the region’s culinary heritage to Athens in an intimate and heartfelt way.
Each dinner serves as a bridge between cultures and memories, offering flavors that evoke the nomadic spirit and a deep connection to the land. Stepa is more than a meal—it’s an experience of tradition and togetherness.

Margarita’s path was shaped by a life between places; a Kazakh upbringing with Georgian heritage, all the while imbibing the Spanish climate. Adapting and understanding these cultures naturally led her to the kitchen. Tracing connections between regions that seem worlds apart, her culinary style is grounded in Mediterranean cuisine while her curiosity often wanders further East.
Margarita is drawn to the small details that cultures share: a dumpling folded differently, the same herb used in another language, the way people gather around food. Through her generous plates, she highlights these subtle overlaps and finds familiarity inside difference.
March 5–6, the Levant meets the Steppe.
Join us for an intimate supper club hosted by @margaritas.dining.affairs and @hadi_khatib — an evening where traditions from Kazakhstan and Syria intertwine and differences reveal their quiet similarities. Gathered around a traditional low table, we’ll journey through a four-course menu inspired by Levantine and Central Asian flavors, a with Georgian wines.
Dishes from our grandmas, modern interpretations of the old stories and famous Damascus pulled ice cream Bouza - as your cherry on top.
Vegetarian menu available upon request.
