📚 BACK IN STOCK 📚 Lavoro Oscuro (2026) by ৺ ෴ ර ∇ ❃ ꩜ ﹌﹌ @_cnsss__ published by @mareartproject This publication is a collaborative exploration of Mediterranean magic, healing rituals, and the myth of the janare (witches). By weaving together oral histories and collective memories from communities in Praiano and Positano, the project revives stories of flight, transformation, and the symbolic “dark work” of women. It serves as both a research archive and a poetic invitation to rediscover the spells and self-awareness embedded in the coastal landscape, challenging the historical suppression of these feminine lineages. Born from the residency on the Amalfi coast, the publication is curated by @_cnsss__ - @soniad.alto , @susanna___gonzo , @claudiagngm , @sofiamelluso , and @naomore__ - with Marea. It is an invitation to fly together by sea following the janare rituals. @_cnsss__ is a polymorphic study group founded in October 2020 in Palermo, Naples, and Berlin. The aim is to explore the intersection of feminism and the Southern Question, reworking traditional historical myths and narratives to create multitemporal alliances with the present. Lavoro Oscuro is curated by Marea and @_cnsss__ Texts by Sonia D’Alto, Susanna Gonzo, Claudia Gangemi, Sofia Melluso, and nao Design by @federico_a_antonini Produced by Marea with the support of @carol_lewitt Printed by Grafiche Pacini The book is bilingual (ITA/ENG)

༄ FINALLY OUT ༄ “Lavoro Oscuro” by @_cnsss__ starts from the Sicilian shores of Alicudi and takes shape along the Amalfi coast, among full moons, witches, magical formulas, healing rituals, mythologies, consciousness-raising, and stories woven from the collective memory of the communities of Praiano and Positano. Sprinkle the body with ointment, rub the jimson weed on the broomstick, and you’ll find yourself celebrating all together around the Benevento walnut tree. Let’s recite together: “𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒐, 𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒎𝒊 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒕𝒕 𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒕𝒕 ‘𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒓𝒐 𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒐.” @_cnsss__ is a polymorphic study group founded in October 2020 in Palermo, Naples, and Berlin. 🔮 On Wednesday, March 11 at 18:30, we are delighted to present Le Nemesiache: Reclaiming Mythological Rituals together with the author, @soniad.alto at @fondazione.morra ~ Archivi Mario Franco, marking the second Neapolitan stop of the book’s launch. Published by @moussemagazine , and supported by @creativita_contemporanea of @mic_italia through the #ItalianCouncil program (2024), this bilingual volume (Italian and English) gathers previously unpublished documents, photographs, and posters from the Neapolitan feminist art collective. The timeline and curated archival materials are interwoven with contemporary reflections spanning ecological spirituality, the historical reconstruction of feminist solidarity networks, transformative justice, and queer artistic theories, while also engaging with Southern and Mediterranean perspectives. The presentation at Casa Morra will feature researcher @gina.annunziata_ , Marea Art Project, and author Sonia D’Alto, who will share insights into the collaborative process behind the publication and present a selection of archival images, offering a glimpse into significant moments in the collective’s long history. Thanks to the collaboration with the @archiviomangiacapre , the event will also include a screening of Le Sibille (1977), directed by Lina Mangiacapre, a film that explores the search for origins—roots that Mangiacapre identifies as a vital presence within archaeological remains and “in the subculture of a form of divination that still survives among elderly women in Naples.” Many thanks to Raffaella Morra for her generous hospitality. We look forward to seeing you at Casa Morra – Archivi Mario Franco, Salita San Raffaele 20/c, in Naples. . . . . #lenemesiache #mareartproject #soniadalto #casamorra

🌬️ In collaboration with @lewittstudio , we are thrilled to take part in the #GiornateFAI di Primavera on March 21 and 22 by opening the doors of Casa L’Orto, the home of the Sol LeWitt family on the Amalfi Coast. Built in 1700 by the ancestors of @carol_lewitt - Chair of the Yale Art Gallery Governing Board and wife of the conceptual artist Sol LeWitt - the house is located in Praiano. The beauty and sense of peace that can be felt within its walls captivated the artist when he began visiting the town in the mid-1970s. Among the LeWitt family properties, Casa L’Orto is the only one that contains wall drawings by the artist. We will accompany guests on a visit of the house, the Wall Drawings preserved inside, and the ancient terraces and organic gardens that surround the property. Practical info 📍Casa L’Orto, Via Flavio Gioia 42, Praiano Saturday 21: 10h ~ 13h30 | 15h30 ~ 19h Sunday 22: 10h ~ 13h30 | 15h30 ~ 19h (last admission at 13:00 and 18:30) Free event. February 28th at 6 PM 🎞️ 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊 + 𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞: 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 with @alessandra.ferrini , @alberta_romano_ , and Marea. The talk was conceived to explore the themes at the heart of Kinship and Archive: From Private Narratives to Public Discourse Through Amateur Archives, a winning project of the Italian Council (2025–2026 edition) promoted by the @creativita_contemporanea of the @mic_italia . Alberta Romano’s research focuses on archives that preserve amateur materials, considering them privileged spaces for observing social, historical, and cultural dynamics not mediated by official narratives. Central to the project are the bonds of kinship and affinity that influence image preservation, transmission, and sometimes removal practices. The public activation of these intimate and sensitive materials offers an opportunity to reflect on ethical and educational issues. It is within this context that she collaborated with Alessandra Ferrini, whose research, based on lens-based media, focuses on memory, historiographical and archival practices, and postcolonial theory. By experimenting with the expansion and hybridization of documentary film, she questions the enduring legacies of #colonialism and #fascism, with a particular interest in the network of past and present relations among Italy, the Mediterranean region, and the African continent. The talk will be an opportunity to delve deeper into the artist’s research, as well as to present the results of the workshop conceived by Alessandra Ferrini in collaboration with the students of class 5A at the @istitutomarinigioia Scientific High School in Amalfi. Furthermore, the conversation will be accompanied by a screening of materials from the @archiviohomemovies , a cultural partner of the research project. Vi aspettiamo al Centro Culturale Pane in via Casa Rispolii a Praiano! We are delighted to present 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬, a 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 led by @alessandra.ferrini , curated by @alberta_romano_ with Marea, in collaboration with the 5A students of the @istitutomarinigioia Scientific High School in Amalfi The workshop inaugurates the first public outcome of the larger research project 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, winner of the fourteenth edition of the #ItalianCouncil promoted by @creativita_contemporanea of the @mic_italia . How were the twenty years of #fascism remembered in our families? What stories and truths have been obscured or forgotten? Which photographs from that period are kept in family albums and which, instead, hide uneasily in the cellars and attics of our homes? Starting from images found in archives belonging to the participating families, the workshop focuses on the twenty-year Fascist period and Italian #colonial enterprises in Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Libya, Somalia), questioning how these visual traces continue to inhabit the present. Analyzing this material, students will explore editing and storytelling techniques to formulate new narratives and meanings. The workshop thus offers a space for shared reflection on how images are preserved, the emotions they evoke, and the importance of individual history in better understanding collective history. In dialogue with Alberta Romano’s research on amateur archives and the emotional dynamics that regulate their custody, the workshop, specifically conceived by Alessandra Ferrini for the occasion, aims to stimulate critical reflection among students to connect private memory and collective responsibility. The workshop results will be presented on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟖 𝐚𝐭 𝟔 𝐩𝐦 at the Centro Culturale Pane in Praiano. Vi aspettiamo! Thanks to professor Lucibello for the collaboration.
