a lot of people have mentioned over the years that this track w/ Cise sounds similar to Lady Brown. Of course that was never my intention when i made the beat (i actually didn’t even make this specifically for our collab or with cise in mind) but when i got the original draft back in 2013, Cise told me he had written this as an unofficial/spiritual sequel to Lady Brown.
more and more people have been asking for beatmaking content and behind the scenes clips/tidbits, so i’ll try to do more stuff like this when i have the time.

my wife lost her mother very suddenly at the beginning of it, and our world had been devoid of anything positive for quite some time. we took a road trip up to yamanashi (mt. fuji) and i took this picture of @yukari_marino blowing bubbles out in the grass. it was the first time in more than two years that i’d seen her laugh and muster the smile id grown to love.
i dedicated these compositions to her strength and perseverance through heavy times and the memory of my mother-in-law who i cared for dearly.
hope all of you who didn’t catch it back in 2023 enjoy the “new” music.

The very first song on my very new album thats coming VERY soon! "Nation Of Zaun" featuring @thatdjVega !! Them VEEGAAAAAA scratches leveled up the song, 1000% I had so much fun channeling these rhymes and that @marcusd_ beat had me hype the entire time! Writing about Ekko feels like I'm writing about myself. In my childhood, I lived in a small neighborhood in Baltimore called Cherry Hill where it wasnt even safe for my sister and I to go to the local pool/basketball court.
