Today is my amazing cousin @dloganbk ’s birthday. He transitioned on January 2nd 2026, just two months after the birth of his son, Huey. I equally share my love and condolences with his wife and life partner Erin, and with his mother, my dear Aunt Hyacinth. Darian’s physical loss is impossible to comprehend. In so many ways, it always will be. His presence lit up every room, and his spirit was always a joy to be around. We all looked forward to having him back in the States, closer to us, after these past few years in Mexico City with his family. Darian naturally made everyone around him smile. His energy has always been immensely welcomed…. truly one of a kind. He will be eternally missed. There are so many layers to his transition that keeps me up trying to make sense of this by piecing together conversations, experiences, and shared thoughts in search of understanding how this could have happened. Ultimately, I surrender to my faith in God and the universal, cosmic hand that moves through all things in divine perfection across space and time. I searched for the perfect photo of Darian to post, and I realized that family is where my heart settles. Our union is what has always made us whole. This picture is our family, happy, in collective joy. , Even with tears pouring from our eyes, we still smile for the better days that we were blessed to share. Our family is boundless in love. This photo additionally includes Joshua, my even younger cousin, who we sadly lost in February 2025. His transition is no less. Joshie as his dad, Che would call him was a free spirit, a young man who moved unapologetically to his own rhythm. Another shining star, much like all of us Logan men. I wish we had more time with Darian and Joshua. I am nonetheless happy that we had the many memories still with the time that was given. Darian was closer to my age, i remember more of him. He was more like a brother than a cousin. I miss him deeply. Tears abound. We celebrate and cherish them, and all of our loved ones, forever in our hearts.
