Shot on Nikonos III 35mm, CineStill 800Tungsten film
This was my first time shooting film underwater. It was a big challenge to adapt to this style of shooting. I had to light meter and measure distance with my eye while holding my breath which is why I only have four clear photos. I am definitely sticking with it!
Marco Del Pizzo @marcodelpizzo , HydroFlex intern, recently took our Ikelite housing with a Sony A7S3 camera, out for a swim in Redondo Beach. He’s working with Thomas Hughes @t0m.hughes_ on a drowning sequence for a short film they are producing. Fortunately no one drowned during the production of said drowning sequence! 💦

This past summer I spent the month of July camping on the Isle of Mull, Scotland learning and filming the native wildlife. It was an amazing and difficult experience. It taught me patience like i never knew before as i spent over a week waiting for some animals that never showed. This is a project I worked on for the entire summer. This is my very first underwater documentary. In order to film this, I had to push myself past my physical limits, but it was definitely worth it.
