A dialogue between material, movement, and time. This low table combines ancient bog oak with Mokume Gane — the centuries-old Japanese metalworking technique known for its flowing layered grain. The surface unfolds like a shifting landscape, with sculpted lines that draw the eye across the piece in a quiet sense of motion. Currently on view with Sarah Myerscough Gallery at TEFAF New York. Mokume Gane series by Marc Fish, presenting at TEFAF New York, 2026. Made with 3500 year old bog oak and finished in Mokume Gane, the surfaces are layered with heat and pressure to create a flowing, geological texture. Subtle seams trace across the form, while the element of bog oak anchors the pieces with depth and quiet weight. Inside the Artist’s Studio: Marc Fish @marcfishdesign Based on the south coast of England, Marc Fish’s practice sits between sculpture and furniture — grounded in an uncompromising approach to craft and material. His studio operates at scale, encompassing both a working atelier and a teaching environment, where emerging makers are trained alongside the development of his own pieces. Here, complex, organic forms are built through the precise layering of thousands of hand-cut veneers, each piece evolving slowly as structure, surface and silhouette are refined in tandem. Rooted in traditional cabinetmaking yet pushing beyond it, Fish incorporates materials such as carbon fibre, bronze and resin to create works that feel both elemental and engineered — balancing control with a sense of natural movement. Filmed on site, this behind-the-scenes moment offers insight into the discipline, patience and technical rigour that define his process. Alongside this, a new generation of makers is quietly being shaped within the same space — learning through doing, and carrying these techniques forward. 🎥 by @isabelowen_ For enquiries & acquisitions, DM or email [email protected] Artist Studio | Art Furniture | Sculptural Design

A suspended landscape in metal and time. This 1500mm pendant is finished in Mokume Gane, its surface layered through heat and pressure to create a flowing, geological texture. Subtle seams trace across the form, while bog oak elements anchor the piece with depth and quiet weight. More than lighting — a sculptural presence that transforms the atmosphere of a space. #collectibledesign #interiordesign #luxuryinteriors #highenddesign #bespokelighting #statementlighting #interiorinspo #architecturaldesign #craftedobjects #functionalart #designcollectors #interiorstyling #materiality #mokumegane #bogoak #contemporarycraft #gallerydesign #designart #luxurylifestyle

Mollusque Low Table by UK-based designer Marc Fish @marcfishdesign   Layered sycamore veneer is sculpted into a fluid, asymmetric form inspired by the protective contours of a mollusc shell. A cold-sprayed copper interior introduces a rich, patinated surface, evoking time, erosion and the quiet interaction between material and nature. A ribbon of glass cuts cleanly across the form — a tide line that brings both function and tension to the piece.   Working exclusively with finely layered veneers, Fish pushes the limits of material and process, creating forms that feel as though they have grown rather than been made.   For enquiries & acquisitions, DM us or email [email protected]   Art Sculpture | Collectible Design

Kasumi Uchi and Oak Table This table is conceived as a continuous gesture—an unbroken ribbon of material that moves fluidly through space. Its form resists conventional notions of structure, instead embracing a sculptural language where line, balance, and negative space define its presence. Crafted in oak, the piece carries a natural warmth and depth, its grain subtly following the curvature of the form. This is contrasted by areas of Kasumi Uchi, a textured, atmospheric surface treatment that evokes the softness and diffusion of mist. The interplay between these finishes creates a dialogue between smoothness and tactility, light and shadow. The silhouette is intentionally asymmetrical, shifting between moments of tension and release. One end appears grounded and weight-bearing, while the other lifts and flows, giving the impression of movement held in suspension. The voids within the form are as significant as the material itself, framing the object and allowing it to breathe within its environment. Positioned between functional object and sculpture, the table invites contemplation from all angles. It challenges traditional expectations of furniture, offering instead a quiet, meditative presence defined by material, motion, and balance. On display now @tefaf with @sarahmyerscoughgallery until 19th March. Commissions available.

On display now at TEFAF Maastricht with @sarahmyerscoughgallery 14 - 19 March Mokume Gane globe wall lights. The Mokume-Gane globe sconce reads as a quiet collision of elemental forces - earth, fire, and time - distilled into a single, restrained object. The curvilinear cradles are formed from bog oak, its surface darkened almost to black by centuries spent underground. The timber carries a natural gravitas: dense, matte, and softly absorptive of light. It acts as an anchor for the piece, grounding it both materially and emotionally. The bog oak doesn’t shout; it holds space, allowing the other elements to speak. Against this depth sits the Mokume-Gane finish, alive with movement. The flowing, stratified metal surface introduces warmth and complexity, its rippling patterns revealing the history of heat, pressure, and repeated forging. There’s a sense of controlled chaos here — the metal looks molten, almost geological, as if it has been coaxed rather than forced into form. This finish becomes the visual hinge of the piece, bridging the stillness of the wood with the glow of the light. The hand-blown glass globe completes the narrative. Slightly irregular and softly luminous, it deliberately resists industrial perfection. Its presence clearly references fire and heat - not just as a light source, but as a reminder of the transformative energy required to create the metalwork itself. When illuminated, the globe feels like an ember suspended in space, animating the surrounding materials rather than overpowering them

Table(d) — Marc Fish, Ethereal Loop Console Table & Ethereal Chair In Table(d), Marc Fish’s Ethereal Loop Console Table and Ethereal Chair dissolve the weight of furniture into something almost immaterial. Delicately wall-mounted, the console appears to hover, its translucent resin and sycamore veneer surface catching and diffusing light with quiet precision. The chair continues this illusion of lightness. A flowing organic form and subtly floating seat introduce an unexpected flexibility, transforming function into a moment of discovery where advanced technique meets sculptural grace. Our current exhibition TABLE(D) in view. A measured composition of experimental materials and visual restraint. Tables by Studio Furthermore and Weon Rhee invite closer inspection, their surfaces beguiling and difficult to immediately place. Works by Kyeok Kim and Jeske Haak introduce texture and rhythm, while Marc Fish’s lighter, fluid forms sit at the centre, acting as a point of focus and balance within the room.
