Finches is a story about moving on, facing our choices, and the guilt we carry. We experimented with a visual style that looks like a painting, blending 2D animation and live action through VFX and practical design. We procrastinate, we get tired, and we get really silly sometimes but you've always kept our eyes on the goal. I've never been so glad about someone going on placement but you have really saved us from the lowest low to the highest high. @memish.mp4 you've absolutely saved our production. Thank you for making me space to play and be creative, and for being a great friend and checking in over the months. No one would've believed this was the first film you've produced and practically the second film you've ever been on, you've outdone yourself. @alicjagredkaphotography I've put you into this post cuz you've completely blended in with the group. I kinda just assumed you'd be interested in the project at the very start and your responsibilities have just been growing since. It was great fun to have you and I think everyone would agree. @alfiie.o pleasure to meet and work with you. I'm especially grateful for every time you've stepped up for parts where there's nothing to do with your work but you're just offering to help the production however you can. We would've been in trouble without you @jake_k_04 thanks for carrying the boat and making my job a whole lot easier. Caleb and elijah understanding my absolutely foggy instructions, kurinchi and tia basically being constantly present and intuitively proactive, lia taking on half the departments, george making choices I was too scared to make (and sharp), gabriel holding that boom all week without a complaint, aksan delivering the job everyday without me even knowing, tapi making all that content while doing your job flawlessly, and jamie lifting the set morale with your heartly crafts and going all the way to primark!! And so many more things that you guys would take care of that I dont even know. Thank you thank you thank you❤️ And beyond that, I'm so very lucky to have met and bonded with a lot of you people over the past year or two, and finches, to this, it's been a pleasure. Lmk if you want pasta catering for next year, pesto only.👀🥹🍃 And even more thanks to all runners and everyone else who's supported the production. From setting up that many shots at once while delivering very natural performances as extras, to all the heavy lifting and staying with us under extreme weather. (1/3) It's been a little more than a month now, took a little while to process everything but i'm gonna try and cover as much as a could with these posts. There's no way I could express everything i wanted to say on here but i hope it means even the tiniest little bit- lets do this in 3 parts... @albert_warner1063 I cannot express how much you have saved us on this production, now that it's over I can finally say I never had the strongest vision for how I want Jaxon to be. This main character has always been the tightrope and even though I've worked really hard going back and forth to choose the right words, from the very start I already knew Jaxon's character really comes down to who plays him. And once you've sent us your selftape, I knew we had something special coming up. Thank you so much for your dedication and trust to commit a whole 7 days on a crew you've never met. I hope we delivered it back and made your efforts worth it. So much love @leahxheath Unlike Jaxon, I've had such a strong vision on Cherry when I first made the decision to change her name and gender from the original story. I was on a 7 hour plane when I wrote her and 10 weeks later, you've delivered exactly that same character and more. You've not only saved the production but @albert_warner1063 and your improv was an absolutely dream come true to me, I genuinely had so much doing those takes (i wish theres a video out there of my reaction on you guys' choices!!!) But honestly I really appreciate your trust on me, so much love and wish you both the best. @ali_wilson_actor you have given me so much input that genuinely helps the out come so much. The choices you made and adjustments translated incredibly to screen. I also really appreciate your effort coming all the way over and battling to weather with us, I will never forget the moments when you snap into character from the shivering cold. 💜🩷🩵💙

After long conversations, networking and projects (Ask for Angela, The Inheritance, Obsolete), I had the pleasure to take over @baldbenwrites ’s beautiful piece and create something powerful yet entertaining I immediately convinced my team @fbkproduction @samcarroll_film @arjanbillanfilm to do this. After a month of casting, scouting, crew building and reaching our funding goals, the flood came. It was a terribly stressful day at Alton Towers, we had a meeting and decided to push it back It wasn’t easy, but @fbkproduction , on her producing debut, kicked it off again and brought all the momentum back. Thanks to the flood, things like production design and VFX were added and now I can’t imagine the film without them Casting call went out just a week before the shoot. So many strong self tapes, I had to choose between all these gifted talents. Very thankful to everyone who gave it a shot We had major tech issues but @gw_f1lm @calebwmunro @filmbykurinchi were on top of everything. @will_mellorr absolutely saved the day Shoot day was almost flawless. @pearl.productions_ and @fbkproduction carried handfuls of roles all day and everything was beautifully executed. Huge thanks to our AD/BTS team @x.tiq_ @alicjagredkaphotography , Will and @memish00 , even on your first collab, your talent and organisation shone @ethanrodmell_acting incredible work as always, you were my first choice in mind after reading the script for the first time, and you still manage to surprise me as I’m looking back at the takes. @jack_oliver_norris your subtle yet powerful line deliveries, as well as your vision in the character had me completely change how the climax plays out, and looking at the edit, you really gave us everything we could ask for. Thank you for taking care of Adam and Jeremy. And it was a pleasure to work with you both This is only the intro. Bigger plans are coming. @j.azphotography amazing BTS photography😍 Nice little day as camera trainee, really just stepping back and watch, very humbling. The Alexa 35, the Sony Venice 2 and the Mini LF all in the room with a steadicam just made it more surreal.
