Figured I'd create (animated) posters for old scripts as part of my journey learning the Adobe suite. SPARKLE is an absurdist black comedy I wrote around a year ago that unfortunately never made it out of pre-production but I thought it'd be a good place to start as I still love the saccharine pop-up book aesthetics the original project was going for.
Synopsis:
A pessimistic woman has been keeping her daughter captive in a fictional world for decades but, exhausted by her relentless positivity, she releases her into the real one in the hopes it will finally dull her SPARKLE for good.

We experimented with a visual style that looks like a painting, blending 2D animation and live action through VFX and practical design. Every detail was shaped by emerging artists working just beneath the surface.
