FLORAWA. It’s been about 5 years since @piffthemagicdragon told me about the Dinardi Magic Flower Act. Since then there has been a lot of late night YouTube, emailing friends of magic friends in Europe and then eventually thanks to @mcbridemagic an intro to @pekicomedyshow who was ready to find a new home for his flower show. Forever indebted to @ms_edgeley for helping me restore and rejuvenate this absolutely classique number. Looking forward to bringing it back to the stage soon. Spring will never be the same again! The Aussie champ who brought hula hooping to America - thanks to @riess.hill for introducing me to Joan’s daughter Loralyn who in turn introduced me to Joan. I was so fascinated (and furious) to hear her story. To sum it up too quick: She married a US soldier she met in Australia, moved to California, after a trip home to oz she brought a hoop back to California and showed all her friends - she even named it! Someone suggested she show someone who worked at wham-o which she did - and then they absolutely ghosted her and the rest is history - without herstory! UNTIL! The legend’s Amy and Chris at @riess.hill made a brilliant and really beautiful 11min doc about it which you must go and watch - just google Hula Girl Doc - which is how I found out about her - and had to meet her - and I just loved her immediately! 101 years! Cmon friends - no better proof that hooping is the key to a nice long healthy life ! I’ll be hooping for Joan today!
*I had a lil baby in my tummy this day and I had a much bigger baby in my tummy on her 100th bday party which I wanted to perform at so bad but I was sick and huge! Gah! Fomo forever! ❤️⭕️
1 year anniversary of my gold @impalaskate collab!! And what a year it has BEEN! This pic was taken 12 weeks post partum - will never stop being amazed and grateful for my body. 🙏🏽 I have been putting you THROUGH IT! Thank you for putting up with my shenanigans. This skate was such a dream come true - seeing videos and people skating in them in the wild makes me very very happy 💛 Big love skate family, see you in BCN in 2038 when I’ve caught up on sleep and vitamins and all essential nutrients.
