So many get excited over old 70’s and 80’s classics - Neve, SSL etc or repurposed broadcast desks but this guy just turns up and does the job. No faffy complexity, no quirky outdated features, just a mixing desk. Also with a rather nice strip of ash wood to rest your arms on!
Also their customer service is mad good.

GEAR FOCUS : The beautiful innards of a vintage Neve preamp - specifically the rare beast that is the 3405. The combo of Belclere input and Marinaire output transformers makes this one even rarer. Probably from a late 70’s / early 80’s console, it’s slightly cleaner than the classic 1073 but still sounds very classy. Gets used a lot round here on acoustic guitar and various quiet and delicate sources ✨🧞♂️
Happy Birthday to Art Themen! 🎂🍾 86 years young today and still blowing the sax like a man a quarter his age. Such a brilliant musician and also throughly lovely bloke. He’s been coming to MAP to do gigs for yonks but most recently he’s been lending his horn to the various albums of @gregfoat
Art’s no stranger to the scene though having played with Soft Machine, Nat Adderly and Jack Bruce among others
