I TURNED 30 THIS WEEK 🎉 It was truly one of my best birthdays ever. I woke up, got the sweetest presents, went to Drexel’s with the whānau, had my blind box dreams come true, got dressed in the BADDEST fit EVEEEER, and had a beautiful Italian meal with some of my friends and family. It was a dream🥹
I had planned this big party but ended up cancelling it because it just got too complicated and hard and that is not how I wanted to move into this new decade of life 🤎

Introducing Mapmaker. Mapmaker wants to show you a beautiful cartography of refuge and liberation. David Garcia (he/they/siya/ia) is a Kapampangan and Tagalog geographer from the Philippines and is at the intersection of shifting oceans, genres, and worlds. David actually makes maps (as in cartography), loves cooking, and is exploring the sonic realm in solidarity with historically-marginalised communities. Through selection, this mapmakers practise - represented by the canoe - bends and expands time, space and bodies, backwards into the future.

HEADLINER ANNOUNCEMENT: ATARANGI
Birthed through the ever-changing ecosystem of ballroom, Naarm/Melbourne based DJ, producer and promoter ATARANGI draws heavy influence from the queer underground scene in their homeland of Aotearoa by the way of New York City to inform a sound touched by many, perfected by few.
As well as being a staple in the ballroom community across the Pacific, they also help run, facilitate, and DJ The iconic Tāmaki Makaurau-based queer club night and record label NYMPHO - dedicating their collective practice to sexual liberation and gender euphoria on and off the dance floor.
Many things can be true, but one thing is for certain: ATARANGI’s infectious, uninhibited sound will soundtrack dancefloors for years to come!
