My bestie Ravina and I met exactly 40 years ago this year back in Hong Kong. She was returning home during her school break while attending college in New York.
A handful of my closest friends in our 20s — all of whom studied in New York — kept telling me that I needed to move here because of my way of being. I haven’t been to New York at the time, then several years later, life transported me here.
Fast forward to today — both her sons attended universities here, giving us the chance to catch up each time she visits.
Who knew my being in New York would feel predestined by divine design? Perhaps so is much of life. 💫
