We’re pleased to share that artist SOIL THORNTON has incorporated our latest collaborative cover for MANY OF THEM Issue 11 into their second solo exhibition, "The Rest," at Galerie Neu in Berlin. The show invites the visitor to dive into a complexly playful and multi sensorial experience in the linguistic ambiguities of the word “rest” and perhaps encounter on the way questions relating to productivity and othering.

SOIL THORNTON (b. 1990, US) lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Their practice crosses boundaries of media, ranging from painting, sculpture, and photography to installation and video. SoiL Thornton grapples with identity politics, diversity, productivity, systems of order, and regulative apparatuses.

This visual portfolio was exclusively produced on the occasion of ANTHEA HAMILTON ’s very first stage performance, "Othello: A Play." A collaboration with DELPHINE GABORIT, documented by TANGUY POUJOL, that took place on September 27th and 28th, 2024, in Antwerp. This piece was commissioned as part of COME CLOSER: Encounters in Sculpture and Performance, a project created between the Middelheim Museum and DE SINGEL International Arts Center.
