In 2012, the first camera I bought after dropping out of San Francisco Art Institute was Fujifilm’s Instax Wide 210. Over the years, I discovered an extraordinary technique that results in these rainbow refractions, created in a single exposure.
This series was created in 2023 at my favorite oasis in Phoenix, the Desert Botanical Garden, with my OG muse @shivaheravi 💘

Darkroom Double Exposure Part II 🎞️
Behind the scenes magic from my darkroom double exposure series! While shooting street portraits at @folsomstreet I crossed paths with @leroys_pics who generously took a moment to pose for me 🖤 His portrait was made with my Rolleiflex, while the geometric background was created with my Olympus OM-1.
The double-exposure effect was created entirely in the darkroom by exposing light-sensitive paper twice with two different negatives. Each final print was developed on Ilford Multigrade Fiber Warmtone Semi-Matt 11×14 paper.

San Francisco + Harman Red 125 35mm Film ♥️
These long exposure cityscapes/self-portraits were created with my Canon Rebel 2000 and developed on Harman Red 125, 35mm film. Each exposure was 30 seconds long, with a 5.6 aperture and 125 ISO. This was my first time experimenting with this photography technique and I am over the moon with the results❣️

Darkroom Double Exposure 🖤
This series was created using two different types of film cameras: the geometric sculpture was shot with my 35mm, Olympus OM-1, and the model was photographed with my 120mm, Holga 120N. Each camera was loaded with Ilford’s HP5 PLUS (ISO 400) black and white film. This effect was created in the darkroom by exposing light sensitive paper with two separate exposures: the first of the geometric pattern and the second of the model. Each photo is developed on Ilford’s Multigrade Fiber Warmtone Semi-Matt 11”x14” paper.
