“Javier Carro Temboury fait du passé la matière première de son œuvre. Sculpteur, son travail commence par une attention passée à regarder, élire, sélectionner, conserver des fragments d’objets, de céramique. Ce temps passé à glaner est constitutif de l’œuvre. Il est considération, réappropriation de ce qui a été. Il fait avec, il part de ce qui est.
Néanmoins le cœur de son travail se niche dans l’action de reformation, de transformation et de création d’un nouveau tout de ces identités et histoires multiples et brisées. Autant de destins derrière chaque fragment d’objet, autant de passé décomposé.
Que ce soit dans une approche in situ (et souvent collaborative, où chaque production devient le fruit d’un lieu et de rencontres) ou dans une approche plus individuelle, il crée une œuvre composite, chryséléphantine, où s’assemblent tessons et morceaux qu’il fait correspondre alors que rien ne les y prédestinait.
C’est une œuvre particulièrement joyeuse, qui érige l’association, le collectif et l’hybridation comme nouvelle manière de faire et d’être. Un art qui fait de lar rencontre une consolation, ouvrant sur un nouveau destin, et une réparation, donnant nouvelle vie aux objets qui deviennent œuvre. »
