“I’m Tired”
I’m tired of the absence of light,
I’m tired of not knowing what to write.
I’m tired of everyone wanting to fight,
over issues that we should all own but instead make it all about black and white.
I’m tired of both sides conspiring to sell their lies,
I’m tired of my metabolism not supporting a side of fries.
I’m tired of the weekend flying by,
And The Weeknd being criticized for a performance he put up his own money to legitimize.
I’m tired of what’s unfolding before my very eyes,
I’m tired of the symphony of crepitus in my joints when I rise.
I’m tired of overtaxation,
I’m tired of wages not keeping up with the rate of inflation.
I’m tired of bills and my money playing hide-n-seek,
I’m tired of these oaks making it look like I haven’t raked in weeks.
I’m tired of this stubborn virus,
And is that because I have it or despise it and who is supposed to decide this?
I’m tired of people hiding behind social media,
I’m tired of you spitting venom at all who don’t agree with ya.
I’m tired of keyboard bullies flexing intimidation,
But won’t expend any energy combating discrimination.
I’m tired of not receiving reciprocated appreciation,
I’m tired of this generation in a constant state of inebriation.
I’m tired of people in denial,
Causing others to feel like they have to defend themselves like they’re on trial.
I’m tired of the prospect of not being able to retire,
I’m tired of running over nails and having to re-tire.
I’m tired of feeling so tired I have to retire,
Like it’s the bottom of the 9th...and the side is retired.

Kentucky claims it’s the hue of their grass,
ain’t that “Devine”, like the state’s best rapper…present or past.
Color of water in kindergarten art,
or Citi Field during a Syndergaard start.
The Tobacco Road Rivalry boasts conflicting shades,
during hardwood battles where many “shots” are sprayed.
Bingo and her sista: this breed of Heeler,
as are Chilli and her “Mista” and the “Old School” scene-stealer.
Melancholy…like squirrels with no nuts,
felon folly, jail with this colored balls…no girls and “no nuts”.
A music genre with guitars and keys,
harmonicas blowing like a rhythmic breeze.
A St. Louis team that skates on ice, taking “shots” of “top shelf”…no regard for the “Price”.
A 1996 LeAnne Rimes hit,
about as hot as any OM3N rhyme spit…

Shake now, very hard to take down,
create loud, lie awake and break down.
Came around to eat, serving up now,
unheard and nervous, but deserving. WOW! Combustible but unaccustomed to disintegrating,
must’ve heard that integrating’s intimidating. And fading fast…delivered shady always harassed,
so aghast…appalled whenever being surpassed.
At last, running straight past: first to last. grieving amassed…anguishing even hurts to laugh.
Whipped and chained, razor sharp…re-slit and blood-stained,
depicted breaking but waking up…wickedly trained.
Never disjointed through and through newly anointed,
forever joined…unsevered, strong and double jointed.
Foolishly resolute to see,
proving ruthlessly absolutely key…
