Excerpts from a Plantocracy (2026) by Sabine Groenewegen @sabinegroenewegen is now on view at Eye Filmmuseum Amsterdam @eye_film , EYE Filmmuseum, Eye(s) Open, curated by Hicham Khalidi @hichamkhalidi , 3 April - 6 Sep 2026, featuring my sound design and 6.1 channel composition. The installation merges archival images of corporate propaganda from rubber plantations, fragments of written correspondence, and contemporary images. Showcased on a two‑channel installation, as part of a long-term and ongoing research trajectory of filmmaker and artist Sabine Groenewegen, tracing, investigating and exposing the history of rubber and women on Dutch colonial plantations. Grateful to Sabine for trusting me with composing the soundtrack for this work, for letting me be part of this process and learn from the depth and care of her research. After a long pause from taking on new projects due to burnout, this work has been part of a slow return. thrilled to finally share this! ♡ it has required some life changing events to render me fearless enough to release these tracks, but now: it’s out! 5 tracks on a little EP called L-0-U! they’ve been cooking for a while... some tracks lived another life in the context of projects (very dear to me) such as [Posthuman Wombs] @idfadoclab and Virtual Wombs @hauberlin with Anna Fries @hairygaze , and Oh My and Flames to Dust with @henrikeiglesiasinsta . many sounds come from a long term sound research on monstrosity and pregnancy; other material comes from ongoing obsessions with ‘the spectrum of the human voice from the fleshly and sexual to the odd and whimsical, creating funny songs that are comforting yet unpredictable, finding a bestiary of (im)possible life forms and weirdo lullabies.’ thanks to @queerearmastering for being willing to take in my project for mastering. all my love and gratitude for @clairepowerist for making the cover photograph that captured my current state of mind in one beautiful image. thanks to all of you who inspired and motivated me to release those tracks, you know who you are! out now on digital platforms performed, produced & mixed by Malu Peeters mastered by Queer Ear Mastering photography by Claire Power thank you Lounès Peeters ♡

in summer 2020 anna fries @hairygaze and me thought to give a wild shot at applying for @idfadoclab forum with our work-in-progress project THE HOST, an interactive video installation aka digital body essay on pregnancy and monstrosity. we didn’t get in but we could proudly say we tried… with the help of a starting grant of the dutch @stimuleringsfonds creative industry we took some time to research and understand what the heck we were actually on about… together with our key collaborator, technical artist and developer ambrus ivanyos @ivambrus , we went on a wobbly ride learning more about ‘worldbuilding’, VR and spatial sound... then in march 2021 some very cool people at idfa doclab (💜@annabeltroost_afk ) motivated us to apply again aaaand this time we made the cut!!! we are now allowed to officially say we are selected for IDFA DocLab 2021 as well as IDFA 2021 Best Immersive Non-Fiction competition! we are very proud and thankful to have been granted both the Film Fund DocLab Interactive Grant @nederlandsfilmfonds ánd a follow-up grant from Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie @stimuleringsfonds , supporting [Posthuman Wombs] to have its world premiere on 👀 IDFA 2021 @idfafestival ! thanks to all the incredible humans, post-humans, geniuses @ohk_ddanddarakim , @qubra_uzun , @tra.my1 , @lisakaschubat , @ferchapombo , @wheelymum , @auntieactivist : so flippin amazed and thankful to be allowed on this ride of excitement with you all! 🔮💞 and 💯 love to the one and only (post)-human GENIUS @hairygaze : without them none of this would have ever come into being to start with 🧬🎀🧠💘

today exactly 2 years ago me and genious light artist and beloved friend eva g. alonso performed a 30-minute live audiovisual set entitled [mhm]. these few days spent together in the studio of idee & klang back then inspired many of the sound works i did ever since (more on that soooon 🚀) big thanks to @jaschadormann for pushing me through my vast amount of shyness to start performing my own stuff and for hosting this lil performance in his amazing studio @ideeundklang <3

In close relation to the video installation Bodies Of Negroes. I will Sculpture God, Grim and Benevolent, Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese’s MOLIMO O MOCHA (New God) is yet another stunning and powerful work, and I am honoured to share it includes a 17’ minute composition by me, based on an inspiring 10-hour long session I had with Mosese at my sound studio in Berlin in the early spring days of this year. On display till the end of October 2021.
