Last chance to get tickets! This Wednesday I’ll be giving a masterclass at @sonydmpce @pinewoodstudios on shooting a fight/action scene with the Sony Burano, in partnership with @topteksuk . We will be working with 2 very talented stunt fighters an I’ll be showing all the steps, from solo shooting and choreographing, to camera settings, angles and cheating shots so they sell on camera. I’ll also be showing the versatility of the Burano, utilising autofocus settings as a solo shooter and also cineglass with a focus puller. I recently worked with TopTeks and Sony at Pinewood studios, creating a masterclass on how to shoot an action fight scene using the Sony Burano. I shot and edited the previs to show all those who attended, how a scene can be pulled together, when using certain tricks, like camera angles, organic camera shake, post production camera shake and foley can mask hits that dont actually land. The Burano is fantastic for this type of shooting, with a very power XOCN LT codec in a body that weighs 2.9kg. Along side the Bright Tangerine cage and side handles, it’s a perfect match. WHAT WE LEARNT at @drift_limits ‼️ We drove the Mazda MX-5 Mk 2 with a welded diff and the Mazda MX-5 Mk 3 with a super LSD…they feel like completely different disciplines. The Mk 2 (welded diff) is exactly what you want when you’re learning. As soon as it breaks traction, both rear wheels are locked together, so it stays predictable and consistent. You make a mistake, you feel it and can correct it. The Mk 3 (super LSD) is a different story. More grip, more stability… but way less forgiving. The diff is constantly deciding how much lock to give you, so mid-drift it can suddenly grip up or change behaviour. That hesitation makes it harder to commit, harder to hold angle, and a lot easier to get it wrong if your inputs aren’t precise. Both valuable… but if you’re building foundations, simple and predictable wins every time! A huge thank you to @topteksuk for supplying the Burano for this shoot, although we didn’t get a lot of time to give the grade the energy it deserve, I think it’s safe to say the quality from this camera, along side the Sony GMaster 24-70mm is absolutely stunning! @sonyprofilmmaking @sony.unitedkingdom @sparco_official #fy #fyp #drifting #mazdamx5
