24 HOURS!!!
Good lord!
Well, let’s see where this all goes ……no sleep til…. it ends.
What an intense month. Kickstarter campaigns are not for those with weak stomachs or anxiety disorders.
As I mentioned …. I watched the film last night.
Sadly, with an eye for what …if anything……is possible to change with the music. We don’t have the drives anymore. Many moments with overlapping dialogue and sequences edited to music.
As for the music itself ….
Damn!
We really lucked out with the music.
We were developing and shooting this film during an incredibly vibrant time in the Canuck music scene. And had the extreme privilege of some incredible bands letting us use their music…. Broken Social Scene, Cowboy Junkies, The Hidden Cameras, Metric, The Fembots…. Their music is truly part of the fabric of the film…
Along with some other ultra cool tracks from Ween, Electric Six, and R.L Burnside
The soundtrack is a character in the film.
Please don’t make me fuck with it…. Pretty please!
Some stuff …we just absolutely can’t…… like…it’s impossible.
Not in a precious artist kind of way… but without the drives…
We are very limited by what we can do
I got 24 hours to convince a bunch of folks that this is something worth putting their hard earned dollars in.
I’m ready
Let’s do this

The 25th edition of the @Tribeca Festival, running in New York June 3-14, 2026, will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of @malcolm.ingram ’s Small Town Gay Bar as part of the Reunions & Retrospectives program strand. The documentary centres on the struggle for community & expression in the face of ignorance, hypocrisy & oppression for the denizens of two small town Mississippi gay bars. The screening, on Monday June 8th at 8:30pm EST, will be followed by an extended panel conversation with the filmmaker moderated by @thepeacheschrist .

Big News!
Incredibly excited that ‘small town gay bar redux’ will be getting its premiere at @tribeca in NYC.
This screening is going to be very special for many reasons…. The movie was programmed by @jneece ….one of the last of the good guys…. a person who has been incredibly supportive of my films.
I’d argue that he may be one of the most important people in my career. Giving some of my small indie docs a great launching pad at the previous festival he programmed.
Im very grateful for the opportunities.
As well…
The legendary @thepeacheschrist AKA Joshua Grannell has graciously agreed to join us to host the screening and will be moderating the Q&A.
Ever since I found out that Elvira is Peaches Drag Mother…..I knew Joshua was my kinda people. We’ve bounced into eachother at film festivals for years. If you’ve never seen Peaches great ‘All About Evil’ ….do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s a hoot!
Watching ‘small town gay bar’ with an audience has always been an incredibly powerful experience.
…and for that I thank the good people of Mississippi…..who bravely opened their hearts and shared their stories 20 years ago.
I actually just got back from Mississippi late last night….
Where I had the oppurtunity to go back to the original locations and film some stuff
It was a very emotional journey.
It was an absolute pleasure to see Jamey Harper (who I haven’t seen in 20 years) …….who is responsible for one of the greatest moments in the film …..involving a limousine and an epic rant.
and Rick Gladish….the proprietor of Rumors……and the first person to agree to let us film.
Without him….there would be no movie.
They both generously agreed to interviews….that I’m looking forward to sharing as we lead up to our re-launch
I’m so excited
Thank you to everyone who supported, shared or liked the campaign to get the movie back in shape.
I’m so fucking happy that we are getting this high profile oppurtunity to share it.
Yay!

David Cross on Joe Rogan is kind of progress…. I guess…like…..these guys are the exact opposite on the spectrum…they are meeting on the other side? …. I guess.
Good conversation can be a delicious chess match…
And chess is a better game than Global Thermonuclear War…
…..and it’s far more interesting than 4 intelligent people on Bill Mahers after show talking casually about the complete and absolute fact that AI is going to end us..
Like?

I haven’t been around for awhile. It’s a weird time to be on social media and I’ve got this movie ‘small town gay bar’…that I have to resurrect from the cobbled together elements of those not abandoned
I bit off not more than I can chew…..but it was a big bite.
Thankfully, we recently got word that we were accepted to a real swell film fest and the premiere is going to be a “thing”
That’s special. And a real opportunity to help find this film a new audience.
I’m lucky and humbled.
But .. if I may confess
I was mostly lost in my own “Memento” style riddle.
A video that I have loved since the day it came out…. Taylor Alison Swift’s ‘You Need To Calm Down” features a gay cornucopia of “Easter Eggs” . Now, being a Swiftie I’m well aware that Ms. Swift is a Mastermind…and she don’t fuck around with “Easter Eggs”. They are her fucking love language.
@taylorswift gives serious LOVE to JOHN WATERS!!!
Queer icon! Pope of Filth!
In said video , Taylor comes out of a fucking trailer that is inches away from being a lawsuit.
Look at the colors of the two.
The door and window
She is literally tipping a hat to the movie where Lady Divine eats dog shit for real. Pink Flamingos!!
And just so you don’t think it’s an accident. The trailer Taylor walks out is on fire. Mirroring the climax to 🦩when Connie and Raymond Marble torch Babs and Edie’s trailer in the battle to be the filthiest people alive.
And because Taylor is a Mastermind she released the trailer as a Christmas Decoration!!
Which I bought for $25 bucks on her website…not even aware of anything but thinking how cool it was Taylor had a trailer Xmas ornament and now has young girls paying upwards of $300 on eBay to own Divines trailer.
That just feels right.
I checked Google to see if this egg had been cracked….the only thing it brings you to is her “1989” Vault track ‘Slut!’, where she says the words “Flamingo Pink”
Which I’m not saying is part of this in any way
But I do feel like I just explained a shade of blue to Anne Hathaway
Thank you to everyone who generously liked, shared or supported our Kickstarter.
Some cool news will be dropping at some point😸🐻
The winter blahs are a thing.
In years past …. I’d be in Florida right now….usually with Glo….
You need a break from the relentlessness of an East Coast winter….
The combination of amount of work I have to do…..with the amount of money I personally have….makes the notion of any such escape ridiculous to even consider.
So…
What to do?
Since I was a young lad I’ve always loved a disco….
Credit would have to go to the brilliant ‘Saturday Night Fever’…a movie that is far better than it needed to be……that I saw in the theatres at the tender age of 8 with my whole family.
Left a big impact.
Holiday season this year was very tough…..and with booze and food no longer a crutch…. I have to be very creative where I find joy…..on a budget.
This set up cost a grand total of just over $100 on Facebook Marketplace…..
The amount of happiness it delivers is truly priceless……
Ladies and Gentlemen ….
Welcome to Dolly’s Disco.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe on this stormy January weekend

Wow…I just read Bob Weir died.
The Grateful Dead was my brothers favorite band. He followed them on many tours. Sometimes made grilled cheese sandwiches in the parking lot of shows to support himself.
The Dead and my brother are so intrinsically linked in my mind…
I saw the original Grateful Dead 5 times …3 times in Buffalo , once in Hamilton and once at Canadas Wonderland. All on LSD.
All with my brother present.
The music and scene clicked well with my brother. He was the best person to see a Dead Show with…. It’s when he was the most happy and comfortable in his skin.
I got the privilege of seeing Weir one last time ….at the crazy ass Sphere in Vegas.
I went to honor my brother… try and connect with him… I brought ashes… It was a whole thing.
I got way too high…. And the fucking Sphere is overwhelming
An early intermission resulted in some of my brothers ashes being in a Coca Cola infused paste at my feet
It was a crazy intense night.
It was perfect .
Bob… you were the soundtrack to my Brothers dreams.
Thank you!
Fare Thee Well
