We always ask everyone one question: How do you make waves?
Hearing the answers continues to remind us of the power each individual person has. So many people want to make a difference, and itâs beautiful to hear the unique ways we can do that within our own lives.
For @martinriese , itâs about creating change and helping others live their best lives. And isnât that what we all want for everyone?
Head over to the Making Waves Project Podcast for our full conversation, where you can learn more about Martin, his superpower, and how heâs trying to make change so everyone can live a little better and enjoy their time on this planet.
You might think youâre just grabbing a bottle of water off the shelf, but @martinriese would tell you thereâs a whole world behind that choice.
From mineral vs. purified water to how to read whatâs actually in the bottle, we covered a lot in this episode and definitely wonât look at bottled water the same way again.
Listen to the full conversation on the Making Waves Project Podcast! Do you have a favorite water that you always reach for?
We learned a lot from Martin Riese, the worldâs leading water sommelier, and safe to say⌠weâll never look at water the same again. đ§
From the difference between purified water and natural mineral water, to learning that TDS stands for total dissolved solids (the minerals that help create waterâs taste and texture), Martin opened our eyes to how much more there is to water than just hydration.
A few things that stuck with us:
⢠Not all water tastes the same
⢠Minerals like calcium, magnesium, and silica can impact flavor and mouthfeel
⢠âPurifiedâ water is often highly processed, while mineral water comes naturally from the source
⢠There is no âbestâ water, it depends on taste, lifestyle, and what youâre pairing it with
Most of all, Martin reminded us that water is one of our planetâs most valuable resources, and something worth understanding a little better.

One thing we love about Jason Wise is his passion for educating, inspiring, and advocating for the environment. He reminds us that Earth Day isnât just one day in April, itâs something we can carry with us year-round.
By bringing people into the nature within their own communities, Jason hopes theyâll build a real connection to it, fall in love with it, and feel inspired to protect it.

We loved spending time with @jasonjourneyman , who taught us to look at Griffith Park, our own backyard, in a whole new way. From foraging to noticing the plants and ecosystems all around us, Jason reminded us that nature is closer than we think, and thereâs so much to learn when we slow down and pay attention.

Meeting Ellen Ochoa reminded us how powerful it is when someone chooses to share their story. After returning from her first mission, she stepped into a new role not just as a trailblazer in space, but as someone committed to encouraging young people to see what might be possible for themselves.
Through speaking, mentorship, and education, she has spent years lifting up the next generation, especially students who may not always see themselves represented in science and space exploration.
We were so honored to spend time with Ellen and learn more about her journey, her work, and the impact she continues to have.

The Making Waves Project Podcast is back with an incredible guest: Ellen Ochoa đ
Weâre honored to close out Womenâs History Month by launching a new ongoing series, Conversations with Women. Because celebrating women shouldnât just happen in March. This series will highlight women making history in their own ways, big or small, and weâll be weaving these conversations into our monthly themed content throughout the year.
In this episode, Ellen shares the story of how a kid who loved music eventually discovered physics in college, went on to earn her PhD from Stanford, and became the first Latina astronaut. We also talk about teamwork, education, and how she continues to inspire the next generation through initiatives like the schools named after her and her bilingual childrenâs books.
And yes⌠we do talk about food in space.
Tune in to celebrate and learn from incredible women like Ellen!
