MakeSpace is an invitation. To pause. To play. To experiment. To have fun. To try something new. To learn. To rest. To choose you.
It represents a shift in how we navigate challenges, how we manage the stresses of everyday life, and how we choose to show up in the world.
From our home on the edge of the Peak District, we are on a mission to spread joy through creativity. Whether you're looking for ideas and inspiration or interested in joining or hosting in-person experiences at our creative studio and events space in New Mills, you are welcome here!!
Hello April! There is SO MUCH creative goodness to look forward to @makespace_highpeak over the next few months and we'd love to see you there! Like, share, tag your pals, bring your friends! More details and tickets on our website or via the link in our bio π
Hi everyone! We've had a flurry of new followers here so I figured it was time to introduce myself and say a huge THANK YOU for the incredible support we've received since @makespace_highpeak launched earlier this year. Every like, share, comment, collaboration and ticket booking means so much. I'm so excited about what the future holds, and thank you for being part of it!

I love it when people want to continue their creative practice at home after attending one of my workshops. That's why I've made it even easier to crack on, by creating these Draw at Home Mandala Kits! They contain all the equipment you need, plus instructions on grid creation, details of my simple, 5 step mandala process and a practice sheet, all lovingly hand-crafted by me!
These will be available to buy over the next couple of weekends at @thecirclegatherings and @highpeakopenstudios and will be stocked @makespace_highpeak after that. You might also be interested in our next mandala art class, happening in New Mills on Sunday 28th June, 9.30am-1.30pm. No artistic experience needed! More details and tickets via link in bio!
Back by popular demand, our next mandala art class date has been confirmed!
What to try something new, benefit from mindfulness and spend a few hours with lovely humans, creating your own piece of unique artwork whilst having a break from everyday stresses?

Mini mandalas coming to @thecirclegatherings@springbankarts this Sunday π΅
Mandalas represent unity and wholeness and have been used cross-culturally for many years as a meditative aid. Drawing mandalas can improve focus, reduce stress and support with present-moment awareness and mindfulness.
Join me at Circle Gatherings at Spring Bank Arts Centre in New Mills from 3.30pm on Sunday 17th May 2026 for a taster session into creating your own mini mandala. You will also get to enjoy other offerings including cacao, movement and sound healing as part of this special Beltane celebration.Β

Let's talk about digital overwhelm π΅βπ«
Doomscrolling, on-demand global news and 24/7 notifications got you down?? You're not alone! But there is hope!
Recent research around the experience economy in Europe reveals a strong trend towards people seeking opportunities cented around creativity, care and connection. 'The Year of the Human' demands a slower pace, living on purpose, creativity and community as coping strategies, analogue activities and choosing conscious connection.
This is why MakeSpace exists. To offer intentional pauses. To provide opportunities to play, learn and experiment. To create and connect with others. To slow down, recharge and resource ourselves to navigate the world in which we live.
Come and be part of the movement 𧑠upcoming events on our website, venue hire available and private gatherings can be organised!
A little bit more about what to expect from our Smartphone Photography Walk at the end of the month! Combining theory, tips and tricks with the opportunity to practice outdoors as part of a guided walk in New Mills. You'll also get to print and mount your favourite photo from the day! Join us!
