Why Repair?
Not so long ago, broken clothes were rarely thrown away.
Torn seams, missing buttons, or worn hems were handed to our mothers or other caretakers, and they would repair them. Repair was an everyday practice, a shared skill quietly passed down through generations.
Today, this knowledge is slowly disappearing.
In a world shaped by fast fashion, convenience, and constant consumption, repairing clothes often feels inaccessible, outdated, or unnecessary.
This project explores why we stop repairing our clothes and how repair can feel inspiring, accessible, and relevant again.
MAKE REPAIRS COOL AGAIN reframes repair not as a compromise, but as an act of care, creativity, and resistance to overconsumption.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to MAKE REPAIRS COOL AGAIN <3
It was such a special night, and it was amazing to see your favorite garments getting repaired and given new life. 🪡🧶🥂👖
