Meet Søren Pihlmann, our second speaker at Speaking Of: Resourceful Creation. Søren is the founder of Copenhagen-based @pihlmann architects, a practice grounded in working with what already exists—treating buildings, materials, and context as the starting point for design. Among many projects, Pihlmann transformed @thoravej29 , which reused 95% of the existing structure, reflecting an approach that integrates architecture, construction logic, and resource awareness. His talk takes an industry perspective on how this works in practice, from decision-making to the challenges and opportunities of scaling reuse. Meet Thora Finnsdottir (@thorafinnsdottir ), our first speaker at Speaking Of: Resourceful Creation. Trained at the Royal Danish Academy, Thora works as a ceramicist, designer, and artist, exploring how materials can guide the creative process. Through project Ødeland, she works with crushed sanitary ware, glass, and granite waste, transforming them into new ceramic materials for both sculptural and functional objects. Her talk takes a practitioner perspective on following the material’s lead—from artistic research to questions of how these approaches can scale.
