Spring wedding weekends have this energy that is hard to explain. The light is warm without being harsh, the pace feels intentional, and couples are relaxed because the weather is cooperating, the florals are at their peak, and everything they planned is coming together exactly the way they pictured it. It is one of my favorite seasons to photograph. Excited about my last few spring weddings this season in the coming weeks!!
The getting-ready portion of the day is where I pay the most attention. Your planner is finalizing logistics, your floral designer is placing the last arrangements, and your people are all around you doing the small things that keep you grounded. I am watching for the moments that feel ordinary but will mean everything when you see them in your gallery, like your mom placing your veil in your hair or your best friend catching your eye in the mirror. Those are the images you didn’t know you needed until you see them.
May means my suitcase stays half-packed and my weeks & weekends belong to other people’s love stories.
NYC one week, bridals & engagement sessions in the upstate of South Carolina woven in between weekends in Sevierville and Knoxville, TN over the coming weekends.
I’m back in the rhythm of wedding season, and honestly, I’ve missed it.
Your engagement season is worth documenting. It is this window of time when everything is still ahead of you and the planning feels exciting instead of overwhelming. These images will matter more than you think, especially once the wedding weekend is behind you and you want to remember how it all started.
I always tell my couples that the engagement session is where we figure each other out. You learn how I give direction, how I move through a location, what it feels like when I am working around you. And I learn how you two are together, what makes you laugh, where the real chemistry shows up. By the time the wedding weekend comes, we have already done this together once. That comfort translates into better images on the day that matters most.
