our story started long before mango ink ever existed. when ryan was little, he lived in haiti. every day he ate mangos… the sweetest, juiciest, most delicious fruit he’d ever tasted. when he moved away, he missed them so much. nothing else tasted quite like that.

years later he met me, and we fell in love. we loved inviting people into our home, hosting dinners, throwing parties, celebrating every little thing. we wanted invitations that felt thoughtful and beautiful, but nothing out there felt like us.
then we had kids. still no invitations we loved for birth announcements, birthdays, holidays… nothing sweet or fun or unique enough.

so we started making our own. cards that felt as good as the party itself. cards that gave people a taste of the sweetness to come! they reminded ryan of mangos… sweet, tasty, unique. it felt right.

and in 2005, mango ink was born!

twenty years later, we’re here in seattle, designing and printing on our vintage presses, still trying to make things that feel personal and warm and made just for you. sweet, tasty, unique… and sent to the people you love.

an official first look inside our new seattle shop! (thanks to @kseniavasenevphoto for capturing it). red leaves all around the studio and energizing ropes of light around our desks along the wall. our press area features charlie the platen press (1895), clover and chance our heidelberg windmills (1960’s), and luna our challenge cutter from the 1970s.

our production area is our work table, a gorgeous door turned table from our last shop where we assemble wedding suites, line envelopes, and build every detail by hand. our muses depeche mode, taylor swift, and seattle’s own nirvana watch over it all.
