Pinning together moments from our recent Guangzhou trip, where we specified finishes for an upcoming lifestyle hotel project. From a lighting fixture manufacturer to workshops producing cement stone, quartz, and terrazzo, many crafted with recycled aggregates such as crushed coffee grounds, wood fragments, and other reclaimed materials, we got hands-on, testing what works, what fits, and how each could perform in the design.

Guided by the concept In Praise of Light & Shadow, reflecting the delicacy and nuance of light forming subtle shadows that sculpt shapes and lines across everyday elements.
The identity embraces subtlety through embossed outlines and a gentle sheen that enhances the natural tone of each material. Inspired by the veining of botanical leaves, the graphics create soft shadow like imprints across stationery and brand collateral. Details extend to the orchid purple dip dyed bathrobe, fading into white as a quiet expression of the brand palette.

Designed exclusively for LAVO, each lampshade features a unique variation of our custom botanical fabric, developed in collaboration with BODE Fabrics and Materialized specifically for this project, bringing through the signature blue tones and visual language of the interiors while sitting effortlessly within the overall mood.

Our thoughtfully designed Tembusu Multipurpose Event Space at Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur features a reflective ceiling that enhances spatial depth and draws outdoor views into the communal area.
