A1 - Zumbali - Yellow Brick
A2 - Fulvio Castelli - Miami Sequences
B1 - Emil Ramsby - Letter to Stockholm
B2 - DJ Ipokia - Dr Idosemo Stroll
On debuting Stockholm producer Zumbali’s opening track Yellow Brick, a classic bass sound and floating synths warm up listeners ears. Fulvio Castellis crackling analogue packaging offers a rouger edge and tape-heady feel in Miami Sequences. Danish Emil Ramsby sends a letter to Stockholm with a more upbeat house track that still moves within the realm of monotonous rhythm and floating pads. The last track, by Stockholm DJ and producer Ipokia, a more experimental and introspective sound evolves around sizzling drum sounds in Dr Idosemo Stroll.

Is it time (finally)? Makemake Tapes announce its third release, which follows the pattern of its two previous outings; a V/A of four tracks with a focus on emerging artists and danceable/non-danceable electronic sounds on the balearic, dubby and experimental spectrum. This third release comes with a moodier and more atmospheric touch than its predecessors. Pre-release is now up on Bandcamp – 100 cassettes and unlimited digi supply (link in bio 🔗)

See you on the dance floor!
Your favorite mixtape is here! Makemake is for your ears as much as for your hips and we decided to put it onto tape, to float out and blend some music that inspires us without the haste of the conventional “DJ mix” breathing down our necks.
Third chapter of the series is curated and mixed by Manú Nilsson of Makemake Tapes. Starting out slow and beatless, emphasizing tone and atmosphere, he goes on building tension with some seriously dubby beats. An artistic selection of leftfield sounds with humorous interludes. Taking beautifully unexpected turns, the percussive ambient sounds demand your undivided attention. This trip will make you feel like this is the one right way onward.

Makemake is for your ears as much as for your hips and we decided to put it onto tape, to float out and blend some music that inspires us without the haste of the conventional “DJ mix” breathing down our necks. Jo Bubbles picks up the series with a relaxed, yet energizing, percussion heavy ride. Beepy arpeggios, squelching synths, mellow strings, some serious low end, and dubby sounds that echo into eternity. In short, a chill out session with comforting grit and undeniable dance floor appeal. Link in bio.
Label night at @hosoisthlm . @makemaketapes provided the sound, and @dj_kugg was handling the visuals.
Top notch vinyl action by @lisatee.se@manu_nilsson and @__jo__bubbles__
A great night out. It was, as always, nice seeing friends and acquaintances.

Lisa Tee opens the series with a meditational and esoteric journey through moods, beats and layers. From ambient pads through some jazzy tooting and experimental sounds before treading a more steady beat-driven setting, it also takes steps onto the hollow grounds of Makemake open air parties from the past with some contagious lofi grooves.
