The Human Made Mark has partnered with the award winning artist Alma Haser to launch The Empty Red Carpet Project to coincide with the opening of @festivaldecannes today. In a provocative series of artworks that takes a stand against generative AI, Alma’s handmade creations takes inspiration from real iconic red carpet moments at Cannes, but the human talent has been removed, stolen, leaving behind a silhouette on the canvas. Designer Alice Fraser from @mondaynights.co talks about the design inspiration behind the Human Made Mark, and how we were inspired by the human touch and our very first recorded form of artistic expression: cave paintings.
This creative exploration would one day lead us to visiting the incredible 29,000 year old Cave Paintings in Pech Merle for our official launch.
It was a huge pleasure to collaborate with designers Alice Fraser and Matt Caldwell on developing the design for the Human Made Mark. Collectively, we believe in keeping art, design and film deeply and unapologetically human.
