clean living day 47. i never really thought about time before i had a baby like i would get invited to a wedding a year in advance and not think about it then it would be two weeks before the wedding and i would get an email reminder and be like okay we have that wedding in two weeks time but now lila is 6 months old and in that time she has grown out of so many clothes and nappies and two different bassinets and her bath and rocking chair and shes had hip dysplasia and was in a hip brace for 4 and a half months and she has moved into her own bedroom and in to a cot and starting solids and although I thought she was ready for the @masses_bagels x @pidapipo_gelateria collab I could not find anywhere on the internet that said a baby could eat a fermented sourdough donut with a crisp crème brûlée shell and a creamy custard lemon marmalade topped with a silky lemon zest quark gelato and drizzled with lemon olive oil and sea salt flakes but anyway shes smiling and laughing and rolling and she has a nap time and a bed time and in another 6 months she will be one and in no time she will be at a park party in yarra bend with someone elses baby who has grown up and i like to think that i would have partied with that someone elses mum and dad in that same spot and as overwhelming and emotional and every other feeling that comes with having a baby i am so happy that i get to be lilas dad and @sallytabs is lilas mum for the rest of time

clean living day 46. palermo has been a place of reflection for me and call it divine intervention but it happened in a monastery and i was reflecting on all the important details and things i miss because i can be a bit in my head and get distracted when i shouldnt like i expected to step off the train into palermo and into the white lotus season 2 where perhaps lucia and mia would have seen me drop all my euros on the ground and offer to help pick them up only to take them away from me later in the night but that place is 264km away in taormina anyway as i was taking a picture with the ricotta pistachio and chocolate cannoli from the monastery bakery i looked and saw someone older than me taking the same picture and i thought wow that is going to be me and i reflected on all the wonderful and sad things that are worth celebrating and sharing that i havent because I have been committed to this joke for 10 years but as i walked around the monastery i looked up and saw jesus on the cross and reflected on the journey he had been on and thought okay if he can do that then i can do this and i will also die on this cross but the most important thing i reflected on was my outfit choices because i saw someone else wearing the same sandals as i was wearing and they did not look good.

clean living day 45. inside me there are two wolves and they are lizzy mcguire and isabella parigi and i went to the trevi fountain and ate a mortadella panino hoping to meet a paulo and ride on the back of his red scooter around rome but i didnt and instead i played the role of paulo and fumbled my way around rome on a lime scooter with @sallytabs standing on the back and although i didnt know my way around and had to stop every forty metres to check for directions to the gelato shop and killed any sort of carefree travel vibe i know that i would never lip sync at the international music video awards and that is what dreams are made of.

clean living day 44. the first time @sallytabs and me went on a date it ended @ maccas because i didnt believe anyone would willingly order a filet o fish and i know this feed does not paint the portrait of a man who would turn their nose up at a filet o fish but i did and still do but she did it and then she did it again 8 years later on the night we got married and made a mess of her wedding dress and even though i have seen her do this exact same mess with the exact same filet o fish a million times i still cant believe she did it again and another again we did was getting the passion fruit sponge cake from green refectory as our wedding cake so we can get it all over again and again make the same comment to the person working saying i actually got this as my wedding cake and its so nice that i can eat it again and the man working says i remember you told me that last weekend and you think wow I actually cant do this again.

clean living day 43. the end of year is a great time to reflect on all the good times and all the firsts i got to experience such as the first time ive been in my second year of teaching and the first time ive eaten a sausage mcmuffin and hotcakes and hash brown with a coke at 10am at the airport and the first time i ate dutch pancakes at a turkish cafe in yamba and the first time i ate ice cream off a sesame snap in the bath (thanks @somethingsiliketocook for the sesame snap tip) and the first time i ate christmas themed crumpets and a first worth celebrating that is not food is @sallytabs launching her first @saule.studio and wow i just got another first by posting @sallytabs to this grid for the first time in seven years and i want everyone to think of all the firsts they did this year because sometimes it seems like you have done everything and time is a flat circle and sometimes you need to take a second to see you are still having firsts and everything is okay

clean living day 42. sometimes you make a coffee at home and spill it all and think damn but its okay because you will make another one but you actually finished all the coffee and think damn but its okay because you can go past the petrol station on the way to work but sometimes that machine is out of order and you think damn but its okay because you will just stop at the krispy kreme drive thru on the way to work and you stop by and say hi can i have a coffee thanks and they say do you want a donut with that and you say no its a sometimes food and it is not my sometimes time and they say do you know where you are and you say okay ill have two donuts thanks and sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction and sometimes you shouldnt let the truth get in the way of a good story.

clean living day 41. the early bird may get the worm but i dont like worms and am scared of birds so i waited until 11am to get the @stefanino.panino and ordered a custom panino and wow i have such good taste and am expecting my sandwich and picture to be on the wall after ordering just the jeremy thanks a few more times and on the drive home i saw no line @ maccas and jumped @ the opportunity to get some hotcakes with whipped butter and maple syrup and saturdays are no longer for the boys they are for me and the jeremy and the hotcakes.

clean living day 40. when it’s @je_ne_sais_quoi_energy 30th birthday party and you volunteer to help with entrees and you drive to thomastown to buy all the stracciatella at @thatsamorecheese cheese but you also forget to put it all out for the guests and now you have over a kilogram of stracciatella in the fridge that needs to be eaten in the next couple of days so you make a sausage and stracciatella mcmuffin for breakfast and although time is not on my side with expiry dates it is the only thing that will tell what i eat next.

clean living day 39. wet day time table washed down with your favourite snack’s favourite snacks and were celebrating that there is not a celebration in sight because my life is v bountiful in love and laughter (and life again) and I dont need to choke on dried coconut to remind me of that. outs to those that love me and make me feel it all and those that dont I am writing your reports next week and I am very petty.

cleaning living day 38. when you were after greener pastures for 2021 but not dan andrews told you to stay inside but its okay because @hopestradio @ellies.table and @cookedwithjack made greener pastas and if this is what is on the other side of the fence then i guess its not so bad

clean living day 37. when its the easter long weekend and @inner_varnika isnt happening and you think damn I wish I was dancing and telling jokes in a suit with my friends and then you remember damn I get to dance and tell jokes in a suit with my friends because i had the privilege of being invited to @chico_g and @camilla.carmichael ‘s special day and similar to this vanilla buttercream and lemon curd wedding cake the day was a marriage of beautiful flavours and as is tradition i froze a piece of cake to enjoy on the first wedding anniversary and i cannot wait to open my freezer and celebrate with you both again
