Closing the workshop production of QUIXOTE: Noche de las Peñas with a terrific team of creators, designers, performers, and technicians.
For this show I designed the large puppets, built them (with a lot of help, especially the arms of Nick Trotter), and brought them to life. I also got to puppeteer the excellent shadow puppets by Mimi Dojka alongside my husband Miguel. What a great way to close this chapter in Humboldt!
Stay tuned for the evolution of this piece. Conceived and created by Rudi Galindo and Dave Ferney, Directed by Jeff Raz. Performed at the Arcata Playhouse

More masks, emotions, and nonverbal storytelling with high school theater students. Both actors and technicians explored the effects the body and emotions have upon each other over six sessions the past two weeks. Thanks to Arcata High for having me visit!
The masks were created by a variety of artists including myself, @woodcarving_ubud , and others whose names I do not know.

These high school students in Eureka explored emotion and transformation last week— first with visual research, then making their own masks, then exploring 3D masks in their bodies. I love that I was able to share this world with them :)
