Our Bite-sized Behaviour Change Activations are back next week, and this time, they’re online! 🚀 After two energising sessions at Queen Vic Market, we’ve already: ✅ Mapped the market system for reusables ✅ Zoomed in on the food truck trial to spot key reuse moments Now it’s time for the final two activations: ✨ Activation 3: Make it Stick✨ We’ll identify behaviour change levers, generate intervention ideas, and prioritise the best ones to test during Siptember at QVM. ✨ Activation 4 Briefing: Test What Works✨ Right after Activation 3, we’ll run a quick briefing to explore Siptember messages and what resonates with different audiences. Both are short, practical, and open to anyone curious about behaviour change and circular solutions. Come help take ideas from theory to action and shape real-world change 🌏 Thanks to our collaborators @make_studios_hcd 🫶 Learn more and sign up through the link in bio!

Big things often start bite-sized Our first Behaviour Change Bite-sized Activation at Queen Vic Market was a hit! Together with @make_studios_hcd and an awesome group of community members, we explored what really drives (or blocks) people from using reusable cups, dishes and containers at the market, thinking at a broader system level Our next stop is digging deeper to uncover the barriers and opportunities for specific audiences to help reusables become the norm. If you’re interested in putting behaviour change theory into action, join us Thurs 7 August, 9–12, at QVM ➔ No experience necessary ➔ Learn, map + co-create ➔ Help set the foundations for behaviour change interventions to reduce waste ➔ Moving Feast Kitchen, Purpose Precinct ➔ Sign-up link in bio #BehaviourChange #ReuseRevolution #QueenVicMarket #Sustainability #LowWasteLiving #BiteSizedBehaviourChange #CircularEconomy #RememberSIPtember

We’re so excited to learn from Dr Kate Barrelle, Chief Impact Officer and co-founder of @streatmelbourne , at our in-person community event, ‘From Theory to Impact: Turning Behaviour Change knowledge into action’ on Wednesday 14 May. Kate's work exemplifies the journey from intention to action. She is a clinical and forensic psychologist specialising in translating behavioural science into measurable, real-world impact. Her behavioural frameworks help practitioners move beyond theoretical understanding to practical application, particularly in complex environments requiring both structured processes and adaptive approaches. At STREAT, Kate leads communities of practice that apply behavioural insights to social enterprise challenges, transforming knowledge into collective action. She specialises in designing measurement systems that capture quantitative outcomes and qualitative behavioural change, ensuring interventions deliver meaningful impact rather than just activities. When not designing behaviour change frameworks, Kate works with Magic, STREAT's therapy dog, demonstrating practical applications of human-animal interaction on engagement and wellbeing. Magic won’t be at Gate 8 on Wednesday, but the on-site STREAT café will be open for all your morning beverage needs! Over the last week, we’ve profiled each of our incredible panellists, so you can start thinking about what you might like to ask them at the event. When you register for free, you can also submit a live challenge for our panel to work through, so you can see how they bring theory to life in a hands-on, collaborative way. Secure your spot via the link in the @make_studios_hcd bio.

Our free, in-person community event, ‘From Theory to Impact: Turning Behaviour Change knowledge into action’ on Wednesday 14 May will feature a panel discussion and a chance to get involved in real behaviour change projects. Our panelist Angela Bliss is a behavioural scientist and designer with over 20 years of experience helping shape products, services and communications for some of Australia’s largest organisations, including NAB, MECCA, The Reece Group, Wesfarmers Health, and the Victorian Departments of Health and Transport. Angela is a leading voice in behavioural design—combining behavioural science with design to drive real-world change. She’s especially passionate about the intersection of behavioural design and emerging tech. MAKE Studios is hosting this event to focus on how to close the gap between learning and doing when it comes to behaviour change. When you register for the event, you can also submit a live challenge for our panel to work through on the day, so you can see how they bring theory to life in a hands-on, collaborative way. If you’ve collaborated or studied with Michael Trudgeon, you’ll know that turning knowledge into action is central to his practice. Michael is the founder of Crowd Productions, a design studio working in commercial architecture and industrial design. Projects range from national retail roll-outs, cinema complexes, major exhibition installations and commercial product ranges. Michael's work focuses on identifying emerging technological potential and orchestrating prototyping programs to explore opportunities for design innovation. Both in his work at Crowd Productions and as Professor of Design at @rmituniversity , his approach is famous for being fun, fresh and practical, creating a welcoming space for active collaboration and problem solving. Michael will feature as part of our panel at MAKE Studios’ free, in-person community event, ‘From Theory to Impact: Turning Behaviour Change knowledge into action’ at Gate 8, East Melbourne on Wednesday 14 May. This is a free event, but spaces are limited. Register your spot via the link in our bio, and you can share your own challenge with us for the panellists to address.

Our event ‘From Theory to Impact: Turning Behaviour Change knowledge into action’ on Wednesday 14 May, will bring together a panel of behaviour change doers to share their stories and strategies for making change happen. Our expert facilitator for the panel is @make_studios_hcd ’s Director of Innovation, Fiona Meighan. Fiona is a psychologist and innovation leader with over 20 years’ experience in human-centred design, behaviour change, and facilitation. As Director of Innovation at MAKE Studios, she partners with some of Australia’s largest organisations to design better services, shift mindsets, and build cultures that support lasting change. Back in 2018, as the effects of climate change became increasingly clear, Fiona had a realisation that the biggest barrier to meaningful climate action wasn’t a lack of technology but rather it all came down to human behaviour. With this insight, she deepened her work in behaviour change as an enabler in the sustainability and circular space. Fiona also brings expertise in applying behavioural science to other real-world challenges—helping teams translate strategic intent into tangible, people-centred action. Her work spans industries and sectors, from redesigning operating models to embedding new ways of working at scale. In her role as Open Innovator at @streatmelbourne , she continues to explore how social impact, design, and innovation intersect to create positive change for individuals, teams, and communities. Each day this week, we’ll spotlight each of our panelists, so you can start thinking about what you’d like to ask them at the event. When you register for the event, you can also submit a live challenge for our panel to work through on the day, so you can see how they bring theory to life in a hands-on, collaborative way. Register for free to secure your spot now via the link in our bio.

Picture Moving Feast’s paper-thin pastry wrapped around a savory Mexican chicken mix. Delectable. A group rented out our kitchen for the day and left us with some goodies! At Moving Feast, we waste nothing, so Fernando got to work turning it into a delicious filling for our empanadas. This special empanada will be available at the STREAT café in the Purpose Precinct at the Vic Markets. Come on down and taste these masterpieces for yourself! #empanada #sustainibility #zerowastekitchen
