🎉 Heanor – a day of making, remaking and rethinking ☀️
Saturday felt different.
There was something running through the whole day in Heanor – not just making, but remaking. Seeing things differently. Repairing, reusing, reimagining.
Across the Market Place, that came to life in joyful ways – clothes restyled, objects transformed, things given a second chance.
Val & Friends brought the fun – laughter, shared moments, and a real sense of togetherness.
Elsewhere, the day unfolded in its own rhythm.
At Greenfolk Festival, Shipley Community Garden offered a calm, welcoming space to make, plant and take your time.
At Wilmot Street, The Nettle Dress created a quieter pause – reflecting on time, materials and slow making.
And just around the corner, Musical Monsters brought noise, play and curiosity.
There were unexpected moments too – people stepping off the bus, spotting Thingamabob, stopping… and staying. Becoming part of it without planning to.
That’s what the day felt like. Open, generous, and full of small moments that stayed with you.
A huge thank you to Make/Shift for shaping a day that was so welcoming and full of possibility, and to the artists, partners and everyone who shaped it.
➡️ Glossop is next – Saturday 9 May 🚀
