Huge thanks to everyone involved, first and foremost @mail_er_ for these stellar tracks, that arrived fully formed last year. They immediately stuck out to us as a fitting addition to the evolving sound of BONSE1, and we’re really proud that we get to release them 🩵

𝙈𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙧 - 𝘿𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣
We are proud to present the first solo outing on BONSE1, a 4-track EP from London-based Mailer.
With previous releases via Berlin’s Sine Language Records and a contribution to last year’s Fragment On Machines VA, ‘Dormant Season’ sees the producer continue to develop his intentional and restrained sonic palette.
Written after a period of personal upheaval, the EP exhibits Mailer’s expressive synthesis and drum programming, with icey, angular sound design casting wintery shadows across each track. Polyrhythms cascade around heavy atmospheres and deep sub bass, while the melodic leads give the record a sense of hope, hinting at brighter days ahead.
Utilising distinct sound design techniques, including the digital manipulation of numerous physical, naturalistic sound sources, the world created by these four tracks is one to get lost in. Built for introspection both on and off the dancefloor, we invite you to let these intricately built tracks unfurl around you, hopefully providing some light in these wintery days.
