Hey gang, we just wanted to say a massive thanks for such an amazing year!! We were pinching ourselves kicking things off supporting legends @hoodoogurus_official then straight onto @lookoutfestival_au which was an absolute blast. Heading to WA to hang with the one and only @jonspencerhitmaker and do @waverockweekender was pretty bloody incredible! 👖🎉Celebrating 25 years of Dirty Jeans on the road has been huge for us this year! And turns out the stage party was a hit, we had no idea how much you’d all love the bubble machine, 🫧 so thanks heaps for coming out & making it such a special milestone!! We’ve been thinking a lot about our beautiful bandmate, Dean Turner, the genius behind that song (together with co-producer Greg Wales). We know Dean would be so proud of the turnout and all the love you’ve shown. It’s meant a lot. ❤️ Sydney & Newcastle, we’re heading your way in Jan and can’t wait! And we can’t wait for Bali in June!! We’ve also been writing & recording all year - new album bubbling away and road-testing new songs has been giving us a real buzz, your reactions have been unreal. This week guest is my good mate @adalitax from @magicdirtofficial . Finding their feet at the legendary Barwon Club in Geelong, Magic Dirt were pioneers of gritty Aussie punk-rock. They’ve played with Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Spiderbait, Powderfinger, and Pavement even sang about them in a song. The soundtrack to Australia is filled with Magic Dirt tracks like Dirty Jeans, Ice, and Plastic Loveless Letter. And as a solo artist, Adalita has found critical acclaim through the three albums she has made so far. She has become such an icon, such a bloody legend, that she doesn’t even need a last name for you to know who I’m talking about. Adalita came up to the farm back in August for a visit. 🎉25 YEARS ON // STILL DIRTY👖 Celebrating 25 years of Dirty Jeans + more! This Nov/Dec we’re hitting the road to mark 25 years since Dirty Jeans first made its mark. Born from a scrappy cassette demo in a Melbourne share house, it became our first charting single and a career-defining anthem - packed with handclaps, tropical guitar licks and hooks galore! Originally scribbled down and taped by Adalita in 1999, the song was nearly lost before being produced by Greg Wales and Dean Turner into the pop-grunge classic you know today. Released in July 2000 on our third album What Are Rock Stars Doing Today, it hit #68 on the ARIA National Charts, #11 on the ARIA Alternative Top 20 and #12 in the Triple J Hottest 100 - not bad for a rough-as-guts bedroom demo. 25 years on, we’re taking it back to where it all began with a run of exclusive shows and a killer lineup of special guests. Expect the faves, a deep cut or two and some new songs we’re itching to road-test before heading back into the studio. Some snaps from our road trip to Pambula for @wandererfestival last weekend 🌿 Drove through some incredible places like Croajingolong National Park and the Sapphire Coast.
