Here’s a sneak peak behind the scenes of us planning, reflecting and thinking about the future!
📍 Magic Acorns
Who knew masking tape could be such a good friend ....
I have been led gently by the paws, in and out my comfort zones this past few days
@codamusicandartstrust with the wonderful @magic_acorns leading the way.
Quietening my questioning inner teenage brain (who knew that was going to start piping up?)
What a rewarding joy to see these little ones and their families enjoying the space!
Thank you to all the lovelies involved, a truly, magical, sparkly time.

A session this morning was documented by two of our young creative researchers (2 and 3 yrs old)
We are very much enjoying and excited by the images and viewpoints they capture!
The Playtech team have been prototyping new noisy toys this week 🔊
Through thinking, making & breaking creative technologies and cardboard, they prototyped 5 new potential instruments along with a range of mini-experiments & imagining how these might be developed with & explored by very young children.
Here’s a little look at some of their beginnings of new noisy creations!
PlayTech is supported by the Energiser Fund from @youthmusicuk and @groundswell_arts

Reflective drawings made during today’s Magic Play session! So many different magic moments between children and caregivers.
These drawings become a record of what happens during the sessions and inform how we might prepare the space next time!
Drawing during the sessions is another way we can witness what is happening, with marks on a page creating fleeting gestures that match the play!
Magic Play is currently funded by Hornsea 3 community fund and the National Lottery Community Fund.
Last weekend Sophie and Sue made the journey north to @scrapleeds to buy some new materials for us to play with! We are having fun this week observing the babies and children play with the objects in lots of intriguing ways!
Magic Acorns was founded by five fabulous women. We are proud to be an inclusive organisation that is growing with community, heart and a mischievous spirit!

🎨🖌️Colourful scenes from yesterday’s Magic Families session exploring drawing and painting to music with Gabby! So relaxing, and as one parent said “so nice to do something different”
✨ Magic Families ✨ sessions are a stay and play session with a creative activity aimed at the caregivers. Each session we invite a different artist to share something to inspire, relax or ignite the creative kid inside all of us!
