RE: Versed RE: Versed takes on the challenge of time and reflection. The work explores what happens when forward progression pauses, and the only option is to move backward. By moving through the choreography in reverse midway through the piece, the dancers revisit their journey, examining the choices and patterns that led them there. At its core, the piece suggests that life does not always allow us to move forward without first understanding where we have been. The ending mirrors the beginning, emphasizing how cyclical growth can be. These @shencodance first year dancers are fierce. I am so grateful for their commitment to this process, learning and retrograding the entire piece in just two (long) rehearsals. They showed up READY, trusted each other, and approached every moment with a willingness to take the risks necessary to make the piece theirs. I cannot thank @shencodance and @tiffanie_carson enough for this opportunity. Coming back to work with the department that shaped me has been incredibly meaningful. Life is good - ready to keep moving forward.
