And here is my reel, remembering the joy and glory of April's Arts & Culture month in Escondido, and the small role that we played in making it all a HUGE success!! The art was wonderful, the vibes were immaculate, we provided a fun escape, many laughs, and supported almost 1,000 participants along the way, but the truth is that it's all about the journey and the people who you meet along the way!! I had two projects that were funded by a grant from the @cityofescondido . We were working on them both concurrently: Kahlo, Dali, & Freud present: YOUR UNCONSCIOUS MIND!, an interactive theatrical experience about the Surrealists @your_unconscious_mind . At the same time, we opened TWO locations of Escondoodles, a Creative Re-use store, selling new and gently used Arts and Crafts supplies, and offering free Art classes during the month. One @theccae and one @colabcraftssd on Grand Ave. It was so exciting, but what I loved the most was interacting with the people who pulled up alongside to help, advise, work, and share their time and many talents with these projects! From ages 4, to those well into their 70's, they offered advice, support, wisdom, humor, help, experience, and more, each in their own way. The world is my Teacher, and I learned so much this April!! So grateful for the opportunity, as always....Thank you to ALL!!🖌️🎨🫟😍👍💯💕🎉 @brilliantspectrumart 🌺 @sdartmatters @artsedsd @sdartsculture @theccae @artsandiego_ @sandiegoartistsunified @sandiegoartdirectory @calartscouncil @caea_california @california.arts @commonplacesd @sdtheatreconnection @welove.esco @visitescondido @magecesco @escondidochamber @artsandiego_ @artsandiego_ @sandiegoartdirectory artsandculturesocal #accm #escondidoartist #sandiegoart #sandiegoartscene #interactive

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT during the 2nd Saturday Art Walk, join the BOOMBOX outdoor dance party at Heritage Garden!!! Larger than life, BOOMBOX was created by @glass.house.arts 😍 From @glass.house.arts : “Our giant rolling boombox, built in 2025, is part sound system and part art piece. It features dual 18” subs, a center speaker disguised as a cassette deck, and an interactive light display synced to music. The project is modular, collaborative, and open to contributions—painting, electronics, design, and more.” See you on Grand on 2nd Saturday!! Bring the family!

As an involved party on two grants, this time around, I am making a reel for each of the 4 months of prep that it took to bring @your_unconscious_mind and Escondoodles to life for Arts and Culture month in Escondido this year, because I always want to remember this special time. February was all about PEOPLE! As we held auditions and began running rehearsals 3 nights a week, I kept collecting huge furniture displays, and hired a very special group of people to run Escondoodles, we were simultaneously getting in LOADS of donations and trying not to be buried by the community's generosity!🥰 These kinds of projects are actually quite simple to achieve: My only job was to surround myself with great people!!! 😍👍💯💕🙌🔥✨🎉 I reached out to my community, and they responded in FULL FORCE! Luckily for me, I am a delagator, and very comfortable assessing people's interests, trusting their decisions, and assigning them tasks. Since there was no way I could physically be everywhere at once, I called on the Universe, and people came out of the woodwork to help assemble all of the pieces! I feel so fortunate to have been able to work with old friends, as well as to meet so many new people and make lots of new friends of all ages and from different backgrounds and stages of life. Two of my greatest Escondoodles helpers were 75 years old, and they *literally* ran circles around me! I learned life lessons from students, from pre-school age, to college! Biggest lesson learned: Never underestimate anybody or make decisions for them. Just ask and let them decide on their own behalf....You may be surprised, as I was! Seek and ye shall find🩷🩷🩷
