Featuring filmmakers: Tayla Myree (@everythingtmy ), Melanie Sien Min Lyn (@xiumin3k ), Mara Chavez (@mar.achavez ), Maeva Ranaivojaona (@maevaranaivojaona ) Join us for a symposium and peer exchange engaging with sensitive and often unseen photographic archives. The programme explores experimental narrative forms and asks how histories can be reconstructed from absence - and who gets to tell them. Through talks, screenings, and discussion, the session brings community-based artistic practice into dialogue with academic and institutional frameworks. Developed in the context of the @weareceu x @weltmuseumwien course on “Photographer Unknown,” the event reflects on anonymity, power, and archival gaps - opening space for speculative approaches that re-read, re-imagine, and expand access to museum collections. 🗓 17 April 2026

In dieser präzise komponierten Studie über Begehren, Projektion und Selbstverlust untersucht Hadzihalilović, wie das Kino selbst zum Ort der Verwandlung wird – ein Raum, in dem Bilder Macht gewinnen und Realität zu fiktionalen Mustern gerinnt. Wie schon in Innocence und Évolution verbindet die Regisseurin klare visuelle Strukturen mit einer Atmosphäre leiser Verstörung. Im Rahmen des Forum Filmregie spricht Hadzihalilović nach einem Screening ihres neuen Films mit der Regisseurin Maëva Ranaivojaona über die ästhetischen und psychologischen Schichten ihres Werks, über ihr Regieverständnis und vieles mehr. -— 4 p.m.: Screening ofLa Tour de Glace Followed by a discussion with Lucile Hadzihalilovic Lucile Hadzihalilović’s La Tour de Glace takes us into the cool art world of the 1970s, where a young runaway meets an actress whose role as the Snow Queen increasingly blurs with her own identity. In this precisely composed study of desire, projection, and loss of self, Hadzihalilović explores how cinema itself becomes a place of transformation—a space where images gain power and reality solidifies into fictional patterns. As in Innocence and Évolution, the director combines clear visual structures with an atmosphere of quiet disturbance. As part of the Forum Filmregie, Hadzihalilović will talk to director Maëva Ranaivojaona after a screening of her new film about the aesthetic and psychological layers of her work, her understanding of directing, and much more. -— Mit Unterstützung von FFW, VdFS und ÖFI.
