Here’s what I didn’t tell you. It was hard at first to work with my dad and then it was hard to work without him. Then I moved four times with my dogs across three continents. My husband’s career was constantly interrupted. Flying internationally with dogs was exhausting. And I spent six months fighting depression and clawing my way back. It came at a huge cost to me and my family — but it taught me lessons that could save someone else years of grief. Because the truth is: the people who succeed aren’t always the most qualified. They’re the ones who know how to navigate people. You know it. I know it. And if you can master that game — five-foot-two or not — you can accelerate your success. Follow along my new journey. I share so many unfiltered ‘secrets’ and hacks to success and growth I wish my younger self knew. Let’s see how far we can go together. ♥️ #StorytellingReels #ViralStorytelling #ReelsThatInspire #LeadershipDevelopment #CareerGrowth #WomenInLeadership #LifeLessonsLearned #ResilienceMindset #SuccessMindset #TransformationJourney #ProfessionalGrowth #LeadershipSkills #PersonalGrowthJourney #OvercomingObstacles #SelfDevelopmentGoals #CareerSuccessTips #MindsetShift #FromStruggleToSuccess #ConfidenceBuilding #PeopleSkillsMatter #LeadershipJourney #LifeChangingLessons #TrueStoryReels #InspiringTrueStories #RealLifeLessons

Do you deal with interruptions like a Mel, a Vin… or a Dakota Johnson? Watch until the end. When it comes to being interrupted, your response style matters — and these 3 strategies couldn’t be more different. All of them work. I’ve used each one. Which I choose depends entirely on context, energy, the room I’m in and the people that are in it. If you want my simple breakdown of the 7 most common interruption patterns and what to say in each —so you always know what to do, Comment STOP and I’ll DM you the free guide. 🎥 Watch till the end and tell me: which style are you most comfortable with? #interruption #communicationtips #conflictresolution #speakwithconfidence #selfadvocacy #professionalpresence #leadershipcommunication #mentorshipmatters #emotionalintelligence #consciouscommunication #confidencecoach #boundariesmatter #personalgrowthjourney #highfunctioninganxiety #ceomindset #founderlife #peopleproblems #consciousleadership #respectfulcommunication #realworldtools

Here’s a trick you can use to get someone to do whatever you want. It’s one I learned from watching actual psychopaths. So naturally, it only made sense to make a whole series of these. Welcome to: Lessons from Business Psychopaths. Follow @M.on.Leadership for dangerously effective leadership psychology.

Every Wednesday this year, I’ve given myself a 15-minute window to do something utterly audacious that I would not normally do. This right here was a consequence of one of those windows. And I will say — All of my effort went into the application. The reality that I now have to actually deliver is hitting me in ways I did not anticipate 😅 The talk is on something I was genuinely struggling with after I left my position as CEO in 2024. It was the only idea I ever had for a talk, and the ‘aha moment’ followed a road rage incident (I wasn’t driving). At the time, the topic of burnout is something my husband and I were talking about quite a bit. Far less is talked about recovery from it - that strange in-between space where you’re technically no longer burnt out, but creativity feels like a language you’ve completely forgotten how to speak. Navigating that took me a long time. And the insight I kept circling back to (the thing that finally unlocked it) - is what this talk is about. It also happens to be, in my view, the most underestimated reason smart people keep making bad decisions. The theme of this year’s TEDx roster is evolution - and until I figured out the reason above, I wasn’t evolving either. I can’t think of a more fitting frame for this particular moment in the world. How we change and adapt right now, more than ever, will dictate the future we build for ourselves. I’m very much looking forward to sharing the platform with a phenomenal lineup of speakers!

I think I found the cheat code to getting in a room with Atlantic Canada’s most accomplished women 🙌🎯🎊 It took seven months of work, a phenomenal number of emails, and the generosity of so many, but the Luminary Dinners was the outcome. It’s an invitation-only dinner for the most exceptional CEOs, business owners, and trailblazers of Atlantic Canada. It’s intimate. It’s highly curated and it’s free if you are invited. The seating is rotated so everyone gets to talk to everyone. No business cards are necessary because each Luminary guest has access to a database with the contact information for all other attendees. Meal preferences are taken. The drinks are curated. It’s designed for the kind of connections that stay with you. And what happened was magic. We all wanted to do this again before the night was over so instead of doing two dinners per year, we’re now doing four dinners. The next one is in June but that table is already fully booked. Follow and comment NEXT if you want to join the waitlist for the next dinner (or DM me). I will send you a link 😊 (I have so many people to thank for the first night- this wouldn’t have been possible without your kindness and generosity. ♥️) 📹sponsor @cait_collabs 📸 sponsor @kaylinamelia 🍷sponsor @beyondhospitalityhalifax Venue- @asiahalifax 🌸- @blossomshopsnovascotia Cohost- @canndoconnections And to @sboland_musseau @rebekah.rad @juliacann - you guys are the BEST ♥️ and to all our beautiful guests- thank you for making this night AMAZING.

Today, I turn 35. I don’t have kids (I can barely keep up with the two dogs I have). I don’t own a house. I moved countries and decided to start all over at 34. It’s been quite the year. I find myself smack dab in the middle of my thirties with no idea how I got here. But the last year taught me some powerful lessons:     1    You are as good as the people who surround you.     2    Distance makes you realize what you’re missing.      3    Rituals keep you connected.      4    You don’t understand the power of community until you leave the one you had.     5    Alignment matters more than money.      6    Your intuition always tells you the truth.      7    Entrepreneurship requires courage.      8    I love kids. (I love spoiling them, listening to them, playing with them. And then watching them leave with their parents).     9    Old friendships say something about you. People who don’t still have some friendships from their high school days should raise red flags (it’s a long story but I stand by my deduction).  The theme I’m sensing here is community, courage, and love. My loved ones are scattered all over the world, but staying connected to them nourishes my soul. Building new connections with people on the same wavelength nourishes my soul. Holding on to love in a time that feels full of hate and fear is the most powerful way to stand against bigotry and misogyny- and apparently that nourishes my soul too. So here’s to another year of doing just that - despite the mood swings, the rage, and the unpredictability.

Last night’s Luminary Dinner was pure magic. ✨ 20 incredible women — founders, leaders, doctors, and visionaries gathered around one table @asiahalifax for a three-course meal filled with intentional conversation, real connection, and seat-swapping that sparked new relationships all night long. A beautiful reminder that when powerful women come together with purpose, the conversations matter and the connections last. 🤍 Many thanks to the two women who organized all of this @canndoconnections and @madusha.ran #WomenInBusiness #LuminaryDinner #WomenSupportingWomen #IntentionalConnection

Bonus: A good cocktail, obviously. 😋 Anyone else? 💁‍♀️ Life is crazy. Maybe it makes sense once you know I moved across 4 countries in 4 years with my two dogs (for my job- I became a CEO at 31) and had to keep a hold of who I am along the way to survive. (If you want to know who the hell I am, check this out 👇and I love that you’re curious! 🤍)

The more unusual the love story, the better. 💌 I love unusual ones — if you have one, or know someone who does, please share it here. And just FYI… our story isn’t as straightforward as it looks in 90 seconds. It’s hard to fit 15 years into a single reel. So let me know in the comments if you have any questions 😅❓👀

At the risk of sounding like a psychopath myself… this one absolutely works. I use this on kids (and I’ll admit, occasionally adults 😂) just to get the truth out of them. You can use it on anyone really, but with great power comes great responsibility. Use it wisely. 👉 Comment if you can see yourself using this (or if someone’s already used it on you!). 👉 Follow Lessons from Business Psychopaths for more dark psychology you can actually use for good. #leadershipdevelopment #mindsetcoach #confidencebuilding #selfgrowthjourney #personaldevelopmentcoach #mindsetmatters #confidenceiskey #emotionalintelligence #selfrespect #toxicrelationships #relationshipadvice #boundariesmatter #healingjourney #innerpeace #trustissues

Let me know if this story helped you with your rage 😤👇 because you’ll catch me telling myself “another elephant” 🐘 on any given day. It sounds random, but it’s the single most consistent trick I’ve used as a leader when I feel powerless or disrespected 💔 Because the truth is… sometimes people do get away with treating you unfairly. Sometimes bullies win the battle. And it can eat you alive replaying it over and over 🔄 But here’s the mantra that helps me let go: 👉 Another elephant will come. I don’t need to deliver justice myself. I don’t need to carry their actions around with me. Sooner or later, something-or someone-will. That mindset has saved me hours of rumination and more than a little rage. This crazy elephant-and-monkeys parable is one I first heard from Ajahn Brahm 🙏 I’m not sure of the book, but I read it in one of his collections or talks. Try it the next time you feel mistreated 💭 ✨ Share this with someone who really needs to hear this today and save it for when you will need it next. #leadershipdevelopment #mindsetcoach #confidencebuilding #selfgrowthjourney #personaldevelopmentcoach #mindsetmatters #confidenceiskey #emotionalintelligence #selfrespect #toxicrelationships #relationshipadvice #boundariesmatter #healingjourney #innerpeace #trustissues

Some people would rather lie about you than face the truth about themselves. Because admitting fault would mean confronting who they really are — and that’s a level of honesty their ego can’t handle. So instead, they rewrite the story. You become the villain. And they get to keep their “good person” image intact. That’s not the truth. And deep down, they know it. Think of it as them doing you a favor. You are the product of the people you spend the most time with anyway (there’s actual research behind this) and they’ve just told you, loud and clear, that they don’t deserve a seat at your table. Growth and peace aren’t for everyone. Some will choose drama over self-awareness every single time. That’s their path, not yours. Surround yourself with people who understand, who are committed to growing past pettiness, and who want peace and success without costing anyone theirs. And if that sounds like you, welcome 🤍I’m 34 now, and I’ve made it my mission to share all the hard won, painful lessons from my 10 years in the corporate world so that it makes your journey to success easier and faster. 💬 Has this happened to you? Save this for when you need the reminder and comment anything at all- you never know who it might help feel less alone. 🤍 #leadershiptips #selfgrowthjourney #confidencecoach #healingjourney #toxicpeople #boundariesmatter #mindsetshift #personaldevelopmentcoach #emotionalintelligence #psychologyfacts #innerpeace #growthmindset #confidencebuilding #mindsetcoach #healingtrauma #selfconfidenceiskey #mentalgrowth #selfawarenessjourney #highvaluewoman #selfhealers
