After a lovely evening at Leading Ladies, a small group of us stayed three hours after the event talking about our passions, our visions, and what inspires us.
The event itself was wonderful, yet the follow-through that happened after a natural connection was my favourite part of the night. We started a group chat and have been connecting, supporting, and sharing ever since.
I had the chance to deepen a collaboration and meet two lovely new humans.
And don’t get me started on the lovely things that happen when you’re in a room full of women. There’s just nothing like it.

Thousands of years of music, laughter, and deep conversations about how women can join forces to support each other and grow together. I met each of them in different places around Halifax, but during the @leadingladiesnetworking event, we finally connected 💕 and life, as always, had perfect timing ✨
Just as we were leaving, @cait_collabs invited us for a drink, and right at that exact moment, I received a message I had been waiting for forever 🙏🏻 one that reminded me how beautifully things unfold when they’re meant to 💕

2021: First day of my advanced diploma of Events Management at @nsccakerley
My very first networking event was the @mpiatlantic AGM, and when everyone got up from their seats for networking, I had a moment of pause. I didn’t know where to start. I heard my boyfriend’s words in my head “Just ask people questions about themselves” and so I dove in and left that evening with 5 business cards. One of those connections led to the job that I got after graduation.
2025: Events Manager at the Halifax Citadel, working in collaboration with @ashleymacpheephotography and @onedayaffair and many other amazing local vendors.
I decided to start CannDo Connections to help others build connections with confidence, because you never know who you’re going to meet!
