Madison Mountaineering is the premier provider of high altitude expeditions worldwide, specializing in Mount Everest, K2, and Antarctica programs. Expedition leader and company founder, Garrett Madison’s first 8000m peak expedition was on Cho Oyu in 2003, first ascent of Everest in 2006, and since launching MM in 2014, we’ve been leaders on the biggest, hardest and some of the most beautiful peaks on the planet. We have three primary goals on every expedition or climb: 1. Safety 2. Summit 3. Having fun Come see what climbing with Madison Mountaineering is all about! Your next mountain adventure awaits whether it’s on one of the seven-summits, or other notable peaks / treks around the globe… 🎥: @terray_s

One water ATM in one lodge for one season resulted in 35,000 plastic bottles saved. Thanks to a generous donation from climber and friend, Steve McConnell, the Madison Mountaineering Foundation was able to purchase another water ATM that will be placed in the middle of Namche Bazaar for everyone to use on their way to Everest. Namche is a critical stop on the Mt. Everest trekking route which receives about 1,000 trekkers per day during the peak tourism seasons. This is an automated, self-service water filtration kiosk that provides purified, safe drinking water 24/7 at an affordable cost of 100 rupees (68 cents) per liter. We are committed to reducing waste and protecting the planet’s precious mountain environments and the communities that rely on them. May 11, 2026 Expedition Dispatch: “Hello! This is Garrett checking in for the Madison Mountaineering Everest (8848m/29,032ft) expedition team. We are back in Camp 2 (6500m/21,325ft) after climbing up and touching Camp 3 (7230m/23,720ft) today. It was a great climb up to Camp 3; fun climb, great views, good technical practice, good acclimatization. We spent about an hour up there at Camp 3, 7,000 meters / 23,000 feet, admiring the views. We saw some other friends up there from other teams, and then came back down here to Camp 2 in the afternoon. A couple of our members, Terray, Reid, and Siddhi are spending the night up at Camp 3, as Reid is building more acclimatization for his no oxygen attempt later this season. So, just talked to them on the radio. They’re doing great, having some dinner, getting ready for bed, and they’re gonna come down tomorrow. So, it’s a little windy up high. We’ve got some Sherpas carrying loads up to the South Col (7900m/25,919ft) to help the rope fixing team! They’re carrying up some ropes to aid in their efforts. We’re gonna head down for a rest! So all good here. Everyone’s having fun and enjoying the mountain. We’ll check in soon!” @garrettmadison1 @mountainhardwear #MountEverest #Himalayas #HighAltitude #mountaineering

Madison Mountaineering is headed back to Cho Oyu in September 2026! As the 6th highest mountain on Earth, Cho Oyu is widely considered the perfect introduction to climbing above 8,000 meters — and an excellent stepping stone toward Everest. Located on the Tibet/Nepal border, this iconic Himalayan giant offers an unforgettable high-altitude experience surrounded by the mystique and beauty of Tibet. With successful expeditions in each of the last two seasons, Madison Mountaineering continues to lead the way on Cho Oyu — and we’re psyched to return again in just a few short months. Reach out to our expert guide team to learn more and secure your spot for 2026. @garrettmadison1 @mountainhardwear #ChoOyu #8000m #Himalayas #Tibet #HighAltitude Mountaineering

The next phase of our Everest expedition begins. Our climbers are heading out on their first acclimatization rotation through the Khumbu Icefall — a critical step on the journey toward the summit of Mount Everest. Over the next several days, the team will move through the icefall and into the Western Cwm, acclimatizing and becoming familiar with the route to Camp 1, Camp 2, and touching Camp 3 before descending back to Everest Base Camp to rest and recover. Stay tuned as we continue higher on the world’s tallest peak. Let’s go, team! Safe climbing. @garrettmadison1 @terray_s @cachobeiza @jp.xpeditions @mountainhardwear #Everest #KhumbuIcefall #Himalayas

2026 Mount Everest expedition weekend update: “Hello! This is Garrett checking in for the Madison Mountaineering Mount Everest (8848m/29,032ft) expedition. Today, we had a training climb up through the Khumbu Icefall, partway to get familiar with the route. It was great! We had perfect weather, and nice views all around. It was really fun climbing up the steep sections, around seracs, crevasses, and back down the fixed ropes to our base camp (5364m/17,598ft)! So all’s well. We are going to take a rest day tomorrow and plan to head up the following day to Camp 1 (6050m/19,849ft), start our first rotation! Everyone’s doing great and we’ll check in soon.” @garrettmadison1 @mountainhardwear (📸: @terray_s ) #MountEverest #Himalayas #7Summits

This October, Madison Mountaineering returns to the Himalayas for an unforgettable expedition to Himlung Himal (7,126m). Standing at over 7,000-meters, Himlung offers a full Himalayan experience with climbing on glaciated terrain, high-altitude camps, and a stunning summit deep in Nepal’s remote Nar-Phu region. It’s the ideal climb for mountaineers looking to go higher and prepare for Everest, or other 8,000-meter peaks. With expert guides, a strong support team, and a carefully planned itinerary, this expedition is designed to maximize both safety and success, while delivering the full experience of life and climbing in the high Himalaya. @garrettmadison1 @mountainhardwear #HimlungHimal #HimalayanExpedition #Mountaineering

Aconcagua is more than just the highest peak in the Americas, it’s a proving ground for bigger goals. Climbing to nearly 23,000 feet demands strength, discipline, and the ability to perform in a true high-altitude environment. That’s why so many climbers use Aconcagua as a critical step toward Everest and other 8,000-meter peaks. This is where preparation meets possibility. @garrettmadison1 @cachobeiza #Aconcagua #SevenSummits

Today we held our Puja Ceremony in Everest Base Camp. This sacred Sherpa Buddhist ritual is a time to ask the mountain for permission and protection. Climbing gear is carefully laid out to be blessed, prayers are offered, and strings of prayer flags are raised, carrying intentions for safety, strength, and respect into the high winds above. The Puja Ceremony is an essential part of our expeditions in the Himalaya and Karakoram. It’s a powerful reminder that these peaks are not something to conquer, but places to approach with humility and gratitude. We are honored to take part in this tradition alongside our Sherpa partners. It grounds our team and marks the true beginning of the journey ahead. @garrettmadison1 @terray_s @cachobeiza @jp.xpeditions @mountainhardwear #PujaCeremony #Everest #Himalayas
