A violin musician Madison Gee joined Folsom Lake Symphony six years ago and playing the violin helps him overcomes the life difficulties. He has a mind of engineer, and he has a profession as a 🚲 mechanical engineer.

Gustav Mahler's Symphony no.2 "Resurrection" performed with Auburn Symphony, Music in the Mountains Chorus, and Sacramento State choirs at the Mondavi Center on Mother's Day. This was a massive production with over 90 instruments and 150 voices on stage.
I first heard it a number of years ago (just the ending and bits of the 5th movement) without much context and set it aside as one of those epic, powerful pieces I might listen to in full one day. (Geez I have to sit through 90 minutes? Was among my initial thoughts.) I revisited the piece after my mom passed a few years ago, now knowing it's nickname and some of the translations of the sung poems. All of a sudden this piece had such deep and profound meaning. I could begin to appreciate the magnitude of the emotions conveyed through the music. I was able to see it live and it absolutely shook my being.
When I heard that Auburn Symphony would perform it on Mother's Day, I had to be part of it. My mom played such a big role in my musical upbringing so it has come full circle to perform this piece on the day we celebrate mothers.
I'm so thankful for my dear friends who attended. It means so much to be able to share this experience. And thanks, Mom, for getting me here. The house smells of flowers and my ears are still ringing in E-flat.
