can anyone tell me what key this scale is in 🐞 obsessedddd w ocarinas rn. there is a great article on ceramic arts network about how to make an ocarina with a homemade popsicle stick tool!! popsicle sticks are my most used tool now! other animals i’ve made are birds and turtles - any ideas for new fun shapes?

🥛 milk & butter 🧈 this was a serendipitous glaze test that i ended up loving! it’s a bit tricky, with too thick of an application i’ve had some crawling but this spoon rest turned out just how i wanted it to: rich milky off-blue white, light stripes of pale melted butter yellow. and a fun lil brown speck! i hope the collector who has this piece now rests lots of baking spoons on it ✨

These pastel salt bowls have been gifted so i can finally talk about them!! I threw and bisque fired these in Jackson Hole and then bubble-wrapped each bisqued pot and brought them in my backpack to Pittsburgh, where they came out of the glaze kiln on Christmas :) Textures created with mini @garritytools ribs I was gifted by my potter parents! A few of them have legs out of necessity - the pots were wobbly without them - but I kind of love the leg design?

Mudpots Day 1 was so great! Thanks to everyone who came out :) Pottery has been an amazing creative practice for me since I started in 2017. It’s such a personal artform and I still can’t believe that some of my pots got adopted and are off to their new homes! There’s still a few more days to stop by - Thursday & Friday 10-5 MT at the @art_association_jh !

New experiment for an old friend 🦋 I don’t make a lot of mugs! I’m still cracking the code for drying time in my community studio, and it’s difficult to find the perfect time to add a handle during a busy week. I started working on this design in January and originally threw four versions of it - one I lost while trimming, one dried too much before I got a handle on it, one is waiting for its final glaze firing right this very minute, and one is pictured above! Soon this mug will go live with my friend Maya in Chicago - a belated bday gift for the person who loves checkered patterns more than anyone i know 💙

🔵 big blue blobs 🔵 a moment for my first pot thrown on my first wheel !! just got it out of the kiln this week. glazed -> bisqued -> trimmed -> fresh ✨ from clay to vase, this pot took me five months to make! mostly due to my inability to pick a glaze. happy with how it turned out in the end :)

psyched about this vase!! i threw it in october in my parents’ basement studio and they drove it across the country for me to fire it. it will probably sit on my shelf for another few months as i delay glazing it lol and also out of today’s bisque, a wonky mini dining room set for @hereforyoutolookat ’s creatures and my first mug in ages ☕️ (pictured as a lump of clay in my last post)

~ first pot of 2025 ~ clay lump -> clay cup! i tried to have a plan for this pot, but the clay had other ideas! what i thought would be an angular pitcher turned into a curvy cup that will make a nice mug one day (hopefully) ☕️
