NEW WORK: Earlier this year, we helped launch Ferne Design Studio — a new backyard and landscape design studio born out of Keystone Custom Decks. With a clear vision and a beautiful ethos, they were ready to launch, they just needed the right foundation.
We jumped in for a lean brand sprint: a few focused weeks of naming, positioning, identity design, and a simple microsite to bring it all to life. Fast, collaborative, and intentional—the kind of project that proves a little can go a long way.
A small, but meaningful project that helped launch a brand we are really excited to see in the world.
Meet Suzanna 👋 Suzanna grew up in Ukraine designing posters for friends and never really stopped. With roots in fine art and a love for color (thanks, Monet), her work brings craft, feeling, and clarity in equal measure. She’s a fine artist–turned–designer, tiramisu aficionado, and fluent in four languages (no big deal).
We’ve been so busy we haven’t had a chance to share some exciting news. We’re thrilled to announce the addition of @kaisershaffer to our team as a Senior Designer & Art Director, bringing even more depth, consideration, and beauty to all of our projects.
With years of agency and e-commerce experience, Kaiser tackles creative challenges for clients with thoughtful questions that encourage contemplation and spark innovation. Whether he’s immersed in a complex packaging project or mastering a new design system for a digital project, Kaiser’s passion lies in the process, always digging into problems and looking for strong solutions. He’s perpetually curious and constantly experimenting with what’s next— believe us, we have the paper scraps to prove it.
We encourage you to connect with Kaiser—he’s always up for grabbing coffee and talking all things creative (or plants). Stay tuned to see his design work in the near future!
Reason number 762 that we love filmmaking: we find equal fulfillment and joy in casting vision for our clients as we lead them, and then working with our friends and collaborators to bring the vision to life.
We loved working with DP @josh.heinrich and gaffer @andrewmalcolmbaer to create a visual look and tone for this spot that blurred the lines between found/documentary style imagery and a more narrative look. We wanted to find ways to drop parents into little moments from elementary all the way to high school in a way that felt both true to their experience, yet elevated enough to evoke feelings of hope or nostalgia, as they consider their student’s arc through adolescence.

When Veritas Academy approached Thread to help envision a cornerstone film piece to anchor their marketing efforts, we knew we didn’t want to make the typical school anthem video.
We worked with Veritas Academy to create a narrative short film that speaks to the heart of a parent, and shows the potential ups and downs of their child’s learning experience. We’re thankful that Veritas’ marketing team resonated with this vision, and trusted us to bring the concept to life.
