Sunday’s Mad River Triathlon brought out some incredible athletes! 💪 People of all ages ran, boated, biked, and even skied through the spring day in @themadrivervalley Bravo to the @friendsofthemadriver @mad_river_path @madriverriders @mrvbcski for keeping the tradition alive. 👏 Our schedule kept us from documenting the ski portion of this race, but important to note that this is America’s only four-sport triathlon! 🤩 What a cool place we live in. @friendsofthemadriver @mad_river_path @madriverriders @mrvbcski @themadrivervalley @valleyreporter @lukefoleyvt @kintzbobby

It’s the final countdown!! Conditions for Sunday’s race look great with optimal river levels, great snow coverage, and friendly temperatures! If you’ve been waiting to see if conditions were to your liking, they pretty much can’t get any better! As you may have seen, this year’s Mad River Triathlon sold out, but we opened up 50 more spots. Currently, there are a few spots left, so you better get on it! Online registration closes at midnight. If you don’t make the midnight deadline, we will offer in-person registration during our packet pickup Saturday from 3-7 pm at Mad Bush Falls and at Warren Elementary School from 8-9:30 am on Sunday. Prices for in person registration are higher than completing your registration online. Since we already above our expected numbers, we will eventually have to turn folks away.

We have some bad news… The Mad River Triathlon is sold out! The good news is that we’re feeling generous! We figured this day would happen and it’s Darn Tough if you weren’t one of the early birds who scored a spot in this year’s Triathlon. After hitting our pre-determined cap for the number of participants, our team has decided to open up 50 more additional spots in this year’s race. These will certainly go fast, and once they are gone... they’re gone. This is the last opportunity to register online for this year’s Mad River Triathlon. In the photos, Misha sports our brand new bibs, courtesy of @darntoughvermont . Also, check out our participant tshirts!

The Mad River Valley is known for its adventurous young rippers! Let’s give them a chance to participate in the festivities! Join us on Sunday for a fun-filled kids race that takes place as part of our Triathlon after-party. The race starts at 2:30 pm and will feature a biking and running obstacle course, followed by a ski, sled, or slip’n’slide. Given muddy conditions and some tricks up our sleeve, it’s a good idea to bring a change of clothes!

Think that you may have missed the boat? Well, prices go up at midnight and that ain't no joke! The Mad River Triathlon is on Sunday, April 12th! That's only 11 days away, and we don't want you to miss it. For those of you who have been dilly-dallying and waiting until the last minute to register for the Mad River Triathlon, you may want to think twice about waiting any longer. Prices will increase at midnight tonight. Register at: /mad-river-triathlon This year, we’ve added a couple of new opportunities for the day before the race: Paddling Clinic – On Saturday, April 11th, Ben Morton, an ACA-accredited paddling instructor, will be offering a kayak/canoe clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m for $50 per person. Spots are limited, so sign up soon if you're interested. Rios to Rivers Presentation – At 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 11th, Ben Morton will be giving a talk at Mad Bush Falls about the Rios to Rivers program. He’ll share the story of an incredible project following the removal of dams on the Klamath River, where professional kayakers trained Indigenous youth to prepare for a first descent of their newly restored river. If you're not interested in participating in the Triathlon but would still love to get involved, here is a link to the volunteer sign-up: /go/10C054DABAC2CA3FCC16-62361097-2026#/ We hope to see you there!
