Bambu Lab X1c - .4mm hardened steel nozzle, after one year of prints, versus new nozzle. . . . Stared having issues with bed adhesion despite everything (cleaning Pei sheet, new sheet, every type of filament). Also started having random spaghetti-ing on random areas, of otherwise clean prints and things I’ve printed before with no problems. . . . I knew it wouldn’t be the worst idea to change the needle, and comparing it to a new one, it seems the throat of the nozzle (where it connects to the thermal brake/shroud) has been bent about .5-1.5 degrees. I’ve printed dozens and dozens of rolls of pet-cf, pa6-cf, pa6-gf, pa612-cf, pa12-cf, etc. . . . Replaced the nozzle, and no more random issues. I think Bambu did an excellent job with these machines, specifically maximizing their ability. They’re not perfect, but they are incredible, considering the previous generation of 3d printers…

Do you have a Law Tactical ARIC bcg - and want to go FULLY bufferless!? Yeah, me too. Here’s my design to that solution. What do you think? . . . #aric #lawtactical #lawtacticalfoldingadapter #lawtacticalaric

Under-extrusion issues that seem random or never go away, no matter what you’ve tried? One type of filament prints fine, but then another doesn’t, and is similar when you switch back (matte vs regular)? Having to bump up your flow, even after you’ve changed to a fresh nozzle, and JUST adjusted it? Well then… it’s probably this gear on your extruder, which needs to be replaced, and they can be adjusted side to side to extend the life of gear before replacing. That said, for the standard brass ones that come one most sub $500 3d printers, printing PLA+ and HTPLA non stop, they will need to be adjusted at least every 1-2 months and tossed/replaced every 3-6 months (to maintain great print quality). The first time this happened to me, I unnecessarily replaced about $100 worth of parts on my printer and the problem never went away until I figured it out (which required me to buy an extruder motor that I could put a fresh gear on). Happy printing šŸ™
