What happens when a stupid idea from the pub actually becomes a real thing. Big mission on the winter solstice, every track on Win Hill, at night. Turns out there’s a lot more pushing involved than we’d ever imagined.
We somehow made it through 16 hours start to finish, sunset to sunrise (ish) with no mechanicals thanks to @18bikes . Cheers to all those who made our lives a bit easier, that was proper type 2 fun. Limbs are certainly feeling it now. If you are feeling inspired by this, donations to @edalemountainrescue would go far! Their existence is vital for idiots like us when things go wrong, and we’re sure they would appreciate any generosity.
Well that was one silly bike ride. Stoked to get an everest done after thinking about it for a few years.
Really grateful to everyone that came out to support and ride some laps. In particular a huge mention to @alistair_west that got painfully close to completing the full ride with me. Also, a big thanks to @cogfire for lending me the sun in a bean can to mount to my bars for the night stint.
Some class conditions for round 2 of the Peaks Enduro yesterday. Fair play to @focus_rides_coaching for putting together a fresh set of tracks to figure out. Stoked with another 1st in seniors.
A properly good 10 days away up north. Rode over many big rocks, (fell off at the bottom of one), realised Scotland actually has quite a few ramps, found an exquisite set of corners, raced my bike on some wicked tracks, (top work @tvtrails / @shay.hayton ), ate a lot of tinned fish, and tried not to think about the price of fuel, (lorries were drafted).
Spent Sunday skidding about at the first round of the Peaks Enduro. Always a good time when soft and natural tracks are provided. Well stoked with 1st in seniors and the fastest non-motorised time of the day.
