April 10 – April 17: Still Move: Studio Arts BFA 2025 Graduate Exhibition
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 10, 7-9 p.m.
"Join to celebrate the second cohort of the Studio Arts BFA program at the opening reception of Still Move: Studio Arts BFA 2025 Graduate Exhibition, featuring the work of artists Keni Ayuno, Lydia Buhay, Isabella Camerino, Michelle Goulet, Kathleen MacKay, Maya Pereira, Sutharot Plia, Lindsey Powlik and Alethea Recla.
In a wide range of creative practices, the artworks in this exhibition offer nine different meditations on the idea that stillness and movement are not exclusive of one another. Co-existing at the Mitchell Art Gallery located in Treaty 6 Territory, the artworks span multiple media and methods in an expressive and eclectic manner. The exhibition includes video, animation, sound, painting, sculpture, textiles, drawing, book arts, print and photo processes, and installation."
Gallery hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 12 – 5 p.m.
We are also excited to announce that the opening reception is organized by the students in AGAD 240: Event Management in collaboration with the MAG and Studio Arts graduating students!

MacEwan Global Music Series presents:
Viðarneistí
CATHY WOOD | CLARINET
VICTORIA SPARKS | MARIMBA
Nordic-Inspired Icelandic-Canadian music
March 6, 2025
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Betty Andrews Recital Hall
Free Admission! 🎉
"Imagine a concert program blending the adventurous spirit of Nordic explorers with the shimmering allure of the Northern Lights, and you’ll have an inkling of what you might hear in the collaboration of clarinet and marimba duo Catherine Wood and Victoria Sparks.
The two come together as Viðarneistí (pronounced vee-thar-nest-ee). The Icelandic term for “wood spark” is an apt description for what happens when the rich, sultry tone of the clarinet meets the percussive punch of marimba. The recognition of their shared Icelandic heritage serves as a springboard for Wood and Sparks, as they delve into themes from their Nordic roots.
Viðarneistí invites audiences to experience this fascinating and unusual musical combination, as these warm and personable artists innovate from a variety of styles and genres." #FFAC #macewanglobalmusicseries #bettyandrewsrecitalhall
